AW: EMS - Bitmaps *** URGENT ***
Hi chunyan, first of all, can Siemens SL45 support EMS Variable Picture? It is only 32x32 or 16x16 for most EMS phones. Also is the phone using the latest firmware that support EMS v4.0 or maybe Siemens OTA? i have tried to use a function from EMS 5.0 but after several trials i found out that the Siemens S45 with latest firmware und also the sony-ericson T68i only supports EMS 4.x But both support variable pictures. So now i try to make a centered Picure of the size 48x16 Pixel. Do you know if there is a handy that support EMS 5.0? And do have an idea which picture formats i can send to a nokia as picture sms? Marc has anybody succeded to generate a EMS that contains a user defined picture (52x20 Bit BlackWhite)? I have tried to code this into an extended object, but i get no working result... This is VERY URGENT, because i have to finish this until tomorrow... Please help, any suggestions are welcome. Marc P.S.: Goal is to place a BW-Bitmap (52x20) centered on a siemens SL45. Hi Chun Yan, Siemens SL45 and Siemens S45 are different phones with different firmwares. I do not have a Siemens S45 with EMS v5.0. From what I understand it only support v4.0 in Asia. I am not sure if you are sending the variable picture data correctly as well. I have made an update of my siemens S45 and now it supports EMS with variable pictures but neighter extended objects nor compressed sms. So i think this might be EMS 4.0. Also with the update from T68 to T68i it is possible to send variable pictures via EMS. So an alternative is to send a Siemens OTA picture to it which I know it will definitely support. Or to send a Nokia picture to the Ericsson T68 you have. But you got to adjust your picture so that you can get the effect you need. Does the T68 support nokia pictures? And do have a discription for the nokia picture format and the siemens OTA pictures? Hope this helps. My experience with cygrunsrv was not too positive, are there any other tools like this that you can recommend? basicly we use cygrunsrv on Cygwin, but these are no productive machines, so I can't tell you if it's stable enough. But IMO it should be fine with cygrunsrv, because we have other daemons running *very* stable, like httpd, exim etc. BTW, nice to hear that the Cygwin folks fixed the poll() error, so we have a pretty stable Kannel on Win32 platforms too now.
