RE: Sending push using sendsms?
In Kannel user guide I found: The push content is sended to the phones over SMS, but the content is fetched by the phone over IP bearer, for instance CSD or GPRS. Because Push Proxy Gateway tokenises SI and SL documents, it may fit one SMS message (if not, it is segmented for transfer). Using two bearers seems to be an unnecessary complication. But quite simply, phones currently operate this way. Push over GPRS can only simplify matters. I'm not sure if that answers your question, and if that works, but I have an additional question: Is it possible to send SI directly over WSP (IP bearer - GPRS) and not over SMS? It seems to me that WAP PUSH specification enables that possibility. Is that (going to be) supported in Kannel? RE: SAR panic
Title: RE: SAR panic Dear Slava, While ESAR is not implemented I think a graceful way to hanlde it is to reduce client sdu size sent to wsp to SAR_SEGM_SIZE*255. Also I can change SAR_SEGM_SIZE to be let's say 1300. it will change the maximum file size to 331K from 146K. But it may cause a problem for the phones that are connected using CSD. Actually SAR_SEGM_SIZE has to be equal to MTU. Do you know a way to detect MTU to the phone that works fast enough? Re: [PATCH] Race between boxc_sender and smsbox identification
Hi Robert, Robert Galach wrote: I found a problem in Kannel gateway (CVS version). Let's check scenario. Consider bearerbox and 1 smsbox named some_box_id. 1) Start bearerbox, it is waiting for smsboxes. 2) Start smsbox with smsbox_id = some_box_id, connect to bearerbox. 3) In bearerbox struct Boxc is created and made connection to smsbox. Default shared list for incoming_sms is set for this smsbox connection. 4) Bearebox starts boxc_sender thread for connected smsbox and sender waits for incoming_sms in shared list until some msg will arrive. 5) Smsbox identify itself as some_box_id and new private list for incoming_sms is created, but previous cannot be destroyed because it is shared. But sender is still waiting on shared list!!! And it will wait forever. No sms can be sent by smsbox some_box_id. I have patched this bug in local version by adding mutex to struct boxc and forcing boxc_sender to wait on this mutex until smsbox will identify itself. Then sender starts his real job. Changed also smsbox.c to send cmd_identify even if boxc_id is NULL. The patch is attached. I hope it removes problem. +1 from me, patch commited to cvs. Thanks a lot! So reduce client sdu size to SAR_SEGM_SIZE*255 is Ok. I'm not sure about changing SAR_SEGM_SIZE. If nokia gw uses value 576, may be some nokia models doesn't work stable with large SAR_SEGM_SIZE? Re: Serious bug in wml_compiler.c
Hi, Stipe. What do you meen non-textual characters'? If it is characters with code128, then it is legal at least untill we don't use it in tag names. And since you have problem description, you can create own wml documnet witch force to create large string table in wml_compiler. I attach such wml file. As you see I use unknown atribute border. I know that such attribute doesn't exists ;-). But panic occure exactly in case when long strings (duplicated) are either in attribute name or attribute value.
