RE: [development-axapta] Axapta web application

2004-06-11 Thread Girish Bhatkal

Hi Andreas,

what about the folders. i think we should also maintain seperate folders
for vitrual directories, am i right?
i tried to create the same web application in 2 different companies (created
seperate folders) when i go to the company A and then select the site and
then run through browser it works fine. Now if i just copy the link in the
browser, close axapta and run it also works fine. But when i run for the
second company B and then again try for the first link which i had created
for company A it does not open properly. Should i do some other settings.

Regards,
Girish

WebApplications are created by companies. The WebApplication Management
information is stored inside the company the webApplication is running with.
In your case I guess you have to create a webapplication for each of your
companies. If you don't want this, you might get in trouble, because you
have to implement company switching everywhere in your WebApplication.

 Hi James,
i know about RLS and domains. and here the company i mean by Axapta
companies. When we are running in axapta we can click the icon at the
status
bar and change the company but i was wondering how can we change the
company
when we are using axapta web.
once we have axapta web some users will login and
use
 axapta directly on the web.

 cheers,
 Girish

Do you know about the axapta module' record level security' and/or
 'domains'?

Your multiple companies is axapta companies or you mean different end
clients of yours who all inquire into the same axapta company?

 Hi Guys,

we were planning to build a new repair module (for repair business) on
axapta web. here we will not need any of the standard axapta roles.

How can we control the records by company. Like if we have web users
 and
some of the users will be working in multiple companies and some only in
 one
company. All the users will be requesting for Items through the web. how
 can
we control to see the particular requests are sent to a particular
company
 only.
Do we need to create seperate pages for different sites?
i don't have much experience working on web sites and i would appreciate
 any
 thing on this issue.
I checked the axapta developer guide but is no much help about this.

 regards,
 Girish
