Hi all,

DHIS version 2.29 is out with many new features, apps and improvements.

Login with admin/district on the demo system to try it out.

ANALYTICS FEATURES

---

Dashboard app: A new dashboard app is now available which lets you arrange the
dashboard items in a completely flexible way. It features better dashboard
search, allows you to create shortcuts by marking dashboards as favorites,
switch between visualization types such as pivot, chart and map and insert
free-text items. Dashboards can be shared, translated and filtered.

Screenshot 1 | 2 | Demo | Docs

Maps app: A new maps app (previously GIS) is available, offering a new,
intuitive and user-friendly interface for creating map layers. It lets you
arrange the order of map layers in a simple way, and view the map data in a
data table. Any number of map layers can be added to a map, even layers of the
same type. The contents and order of map layers can be viewed in the left side
menu.

Screenshot 1 | 2 | Demo | Docs

Last value aggregation type: A new “last value” aggregation type is available
for aggregate and event analytics for data elements and attributes. This
aggregation type will use the last available value or event in the time
dimension, and either sum or average across other dimensions. This is useful
e.g. for facility surveys to analyse data based on the last observation, or for
“patients currently on care” type of analysis.

Screenshot | Demo

Pivot table scalability: The pivot table rendering engine is now around 10x
more scalable, and allows for very large pivot tables to be viewed in the web
browser. This is accomplished through progressive rendering, i.e. the browser
will only render what you currently see and not load the entire pivot table
into the browser memory.

Demo

Event reports table layout download: You can now download event reports in
Excel or CSV format in the same tabular format which was rendered in the web
browser.

Screenshot

Configurable financial year in analytics: The starting month of the financial
year to use in all analytics apps can now be configured in the settings app.
Available options are April, July and October.

Screenshot | Demo

TRACKER FEATURES

---

Data capture and data view sharing levels: The sharing solution has been
extended with two new levels for “data capture” and “data view” access for
users and user groups. These levels apply to programs, program stages, data
sets and category options, and replaces the link between user roles and data
sets/programs. This offers a simplified and more flexible access control
solution.

Screenshot | Docs

Tracker programs in maintenance app: You can now create and modify tracker
programs in the maintenance app. The workflow for creating programs have been
made more intuitive and effective, where stages, sections, data entry forms and
notifications can be created from within the main page.

Demo

Integrated search and registration: The steps for searching and registering new
tracked entities are now integrated. When registering a new tracked entity
instance, the registration form will automatically search for possible
duplicates and alert the user in case of suspected duplicates. When a search
comes back with no hits, the searched values are carried over to the
registration form.

Screenshot | Docs

Improved configurability and security in searches: Search authorization can now
be granted to users at any location in the org unit structure, while also
allowing for configuration that restricts the information returned in the
search results per tracked entity instance. The max number of searchresults can
also be restricted, to avoid general searches returning long lists of tracked
entity instances.

Screenshot | Docs

Sending of messages based on program rules: You can now create program rules
which trigger messages to be sent to designated recipients (through SMS, email
or DHIS 2 messages) from a notification template. Messages are triggered when
data is received by the DHIS 2 API based on events or tracked entity instances.
This is useful e.g. for disease surveillance, where certain conditions would
trigger an immediate message to a case investigator to follow up a notifiable
case.

Demo | Docs

ID-generation based on functional patterns: Unique IDs can now be generated
based on a configured pattern. The patterns can contain various components such
as org unit code, year and sequential numbers.

Demo | Tutorial | Docs

Program indicator custom date boundaries: Program indicators can now query data
relative to the reporting period. In the program indicator user interface there
are now options for customizing what data is used in the evaluation of the
program indicator. As an example, an indicator

[Dhis2-users] Limitation in Nutrition Analysis using z score

2017-06-29 Thread Muhire Andrew
Dear DHIS2 Community,
We are using the dhis2 in Tracking children under 2 data to monitor child
growth and we are using the Tracker to collect these individual data and their
visit on monthly basis to the Health facility. This is towards monitoring
children nutrition status.
Looking at DHIS2, the analysis part does not satisfy the nutrition analysis as
we need to use z score etc etc. Another difficult part get the file that shows
children by number of visit.
Did anyone tried this?___

[Dhis2-users] Datasets not showing up on User role

2017-02-03 Thread Muhire Andrew
Dear DHIS Users,
We are using 2.24 with,  Build revision: 2c1a26f, i don't if this is a bug or
cache but we upgraded our system to 2.24 but if we try to edit the user role by
adding dataset to a certain user role, the datasets are not displayed on the
user role dataset Box, unfortunately when we try to edit it,it is loading only
without displaying the datasets waiting to be assigned.
Anyone came across this issue in the same Version?

Thanks Prosper and team,
This is helpful too.

Hi Andrew,See this related emails from Markus

.The d2:yearsBetween() is not yet supported in the server side aggregation
of program indicators. For now you would have to use d2:daysBetween() / 365 -
which is not 100% correct as the leap years is not considered. You wrote
d2daysBetween in your mail below(without the colon between d2 and daysBetween),
but i assume that was a typo in the mail. If you used the expression
d2:daysBetween(A{ yourDateOfBirthAttributeUID}, V{event_date}) / 365 that
should work fine on both the server and client side. Let me know if this was
the expression you tried. Note that the attribute UID should be prefixed with
A.
In the dev instance the example indicators on the MNCH / PHC program use the
V{event_date} as basis for the age calculation. This causes the indicators to
be calculated to NaN until you enter an event date. If you do not explicitly
want the age at the event, you can use V{enrollment_date} instead.
Markus
P.S. The attributes of type date is not shown in the expression part of the
Program Indicator UI, only in the filter further down. This is all getting
reworked and sorted out soon, but as a workaround for avoiding typos you can
add the attribute in the filter part of the UI then cut'n'paste.

2016-11-04 Thread Muhire Andrew
Thanks Lars,
I came to find an expression in indicators that does this in tracker:
like 40 - d2:weeksBetween(mother visit LMP, Current date)
The above gives the count down of the weeks remaining for the mother to deliver
since the delivery has approximately 40 weeks.
Another expression was to display the age of the child for each visit to guide
the nutritionist:
d2:monthsBetween(Child Birth date, current date)
The above gives the current months based on the date of visit.

 Hi all,
DHIS version 2.24 is out with a lot of improvements and new features.
Log in with admin/district on the demo system.

ANALYTICS FEATURES---
GIS layers for elevation, population density and nighttime lights: DHIS 2 now
supports map layers from Google Earth Engine, which includes more than thirty
years of historical imagery and scientific datasets, updated and expanded
daily. So far we support three datasets, but more layers will be added in the
months to come. You find the Earth Engine layers in the top menu, next to the
boundary layers. The elevation layer can be used to visualise the risk of
Mosquito-borne disease. Select a color scale, minimum and maximum elevation,
and the number of steps to divide your range in. The same options are available
for the population and nighttime lights layers, which is also an indicator of
where people live.
Screenshot 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | Demo 1 | 2 | 3 | Docs

Place search in GIS: You can now search for places and regions on the GIS app.
Click on the magnifier icon and type the name of the place. You will get
suggestions as you type. Select a place in the list to see it marked on the
map. Click the x-button in the search field to remove the marking.
Screenshot | Demo | Docs

Color scales for GIS thematic layers: Select among nice looking color scales
from ColorBrewer when you visualise thematic layers. These scales create more
accurate and user friendly maps, as the distances between colors are
proportional to their perceived difference.
Screenshot

Reporting rates on time: The pivot table apps lets you view reporting rates
based on timely form submissions. A timely submission must happen within a
number of days after the reporting period. This number is configurable per data
set. In the pivot table or data app, select Data > Data sets > Reporting rates
on time or Actual reports on time and then select your data set.
Screenshot | Demo | Docs

Reporting rates by data set categories: Analytics now supports reporting rates
broken down by data set categories. As an example, if your data set collects
data for multiple projects modeled as data set categories, you can view the
reporting rate for individual projects. Try it out on the demo by selecting the
EPI Stock data set and the Project category.
Screenshot | Demo

Expected reports based on org unit opening and closed date: For reporting rates
in analytics, the number of expected reports is now calculated based on whether
the organisation units assigned to the data set were open or not for the
aggregation period. As an example, if you ask for reporting rates for a
district for June, and one of the facilities within the district was not open
until August, that facility will not be included in the number of expected
reports.
Screenshot

Expected reports based on category option start and end dates: For reporting
rates which involve data set categories, the number of expected reports is now
calculated based on start and end dates of the relevant category options. In
other words, complete registrations for category options are only included if
the aggregation period is within their start and end dates.
Screenshot | Demo

Pivot table filter title: The pivot table app now displays the items currently
selected as filters as a title on top of the table.
Screenshot | Demo

GENERAL FEATURES---
Improved maintenance app: Data sets, metadata attributes, constants and option
sets are now supported in the Maintenance app.
Screenshot | Demo | Docs

Apps and object search from menu: You can now navigate directly to an object
type from the App menu. For example, search for “group set” in the top menu,
and navigate directly to the list of organisation unit group sets or indicator
group sets, without navigating first to the maintenance app.
Screenshot

Improved data usage statistics: The Usage Analytics app now provides reports
for the most viewed favorites by type (or example pivot table and chart) and
number of data values stored per day.
Screenshot 1 | 2 | Demo | Docs

Ticket system: You can now set priority and status for feedback messages. This
allows you to use the DHIS 2 messaging as a basic ticket system useful for
managing user support. Each message can be treated as a ticket and go through a
workflow (similar to e.g. Zendesk). You can also send internal messages,
visible only to other ticket administrators. This requires membership to the
“Feedback recipient” user group.
Screenshot 1 | 2 | Demo 1 | 2 | Docs

Metadata synchronization: Metadata synchronization enables DHIS 2 instances to
synchronize metadata with each other. Given a central and multiple remote
instances, metadata created at central can sync with the remote instances. The
remote instances will check the central instance for new, available metadata
packages/versions. This allows the implementor

Subject: [Dhis2-users] dhis version 2.22 is released Hi all,
DHIS version 2.22 is out with a lot of great new features and improvements.
Log in with admin/district on the demo system. Data elements and indicators
app: A completely new app for data elements and indicators maintenance features
a much slicker user experience, with on-the-fly search, “access” and “last
updated” visible in the lists, a new group editor, and much better looks. Demo
| Screenshot 1 | 2 | 3 Integrated tracker analytics: Tracker-type data
elements, attributes and program indicators can now be included in aggregate
indicators. This allows for creating integrated analysis through indicators
where e.g. the numerator is being collected in a program while the numerator is
collected in an aggregate form. This means that you can produce integrated
analysis without caring about whether the data comes from routine forms,
anonymous events or tracking. Demo 1 | 2 | Screenshot 1 | 2 Multiple programs
in favorites: Data elements and attributes from any number of programs can now
be included in the same pivot table or chart favorite. Demo | Screenshot File
cloud storage in tracker: The tracker capture and event capture apps now
support file storage for data elements of type file. This allows you to use
tracker as a document repository, and to upload documentation and files related
to events or people. Files can be stored either on the Web server or sent
directly to AWS S3 cloud storage. Screenshot 1 | 2 Tracker data audit: Tracker
capture and event capture now store the audit trail of changes to data and make
it readily available by clicking on the audit icon next to each input field in
the form. This is useful to view historical changes to information and a
requirement in many settings where sensitive data is being stored. Screenshot
Improved tracker capture: The tracker capture app has received a range of
improvements. - Yes/No fields are rendered as radio-buttons instead of
drop-downs for faster data entry.  Screenshot | Demo - The enrollment and
active programs widget have been merged for better usability. Screenshot - Easy
search for option sets: Option sets can be searched from within the data entry
widget. Screenshot - Enrollments can be incompleted in order to change existing
values.Screenshot - You can filter for people who have a scheduled event today.
Screenshot - Events of repeatable program stages can be viewed and edited in a
list. Screenshot 1 | 2 - Tracker data element and attribute values can contain
up to 50’000 characters. - The widgets in the tracker dashboard displays a
loading indicator until data is available. - Whether to include due date input
field can be configured per program. - Whether to list people on the front page
can be configured per program. Encryption: Tracker now lets you encrypt
identifiable / confidential information in the database. You can set a tracked
attribute to “confidential”, which will encrypt the information you capture for
it. This protects against attacks directly against the database. Note that due
to the nature of encryption you cannot query or do analytics for encrypted
attributes. Encryption requires some extra configuration which is outlined in
the docs. Docs | Screenshot LDAP: DHIS 2 now supports authentication against an
LDAP server. This is useful in order to centralize user credentials across
multiple systems. The LDAP connection can be specified in the dhis
configuration file. A DHIS 2 user account can be matched to a directory entry
through the username or through an explicit “LDAP identifier” set for each
user. Docs | Screenshot Integrated app store installation: The apps management
app has been rewritten and now lets you install apps from inside your own DHIS
2 instance directly from the app store at dhis2.org/appstore. This means that
there is no practical distinction between the core apps (apps being part of the
DHIS 2 installation) and external apps (residing in the app store). Demo |
Screenshot Approval workflows: You can now create data approval workflows where
each defines a list of data approval levels. Several data sets may be
associated with a data approval workflow. This implies that you can have

 Hi all,
DHIS version 2.19 is out. We have some great new features for you.

DATA ANALYSIS FEATURES

Data ranges in event analysis: In event reports and visualizer you can define
and display numeric values in ranges. This is useful e.g. for age, weight and
scores where aggregate values can be presented in ranges such as “1-5”, “5-10”
as opposed to by discrete numbers. The ranges are based on legend sets (must be
created in GIS for now). You can enable ranges from a drop-down next to each
data item in the left panel.
Report demo | Chart demo | Report docs | Chart docs

Plain tables in event reports: In event reports you can display the items from
multiple data elements and attributes as a single dimension. Normally each data
element is displayed a separate dimension. You can enable this from “Layout”
“Collapse data dimensions”. This allows you e.g. to create large reports with
items from many data elements coming down on the rows.
Demo | Table screenshot | Layout screenshot

Value dimension and aggregation operator in event analysis: In event reports
and visualizer you can define which data element to use as the metric to
display in the report or chart. You can also define which aggregation operator
to use for that metric. E.g. you can now display the average weight or age in
the report. You can enable this from “Layout” in the “Value” box.
Report demo | Chart demo | Table screenshot | Layout screenshot

Enrollment output type in event analysis: In event reports and visualizer you
can select the output type, which refers to how the system counts the number of
matches for the criteria. You can select between number of “events”, number of
“enrollments” and number of “tracked entity instances” (persons). This is
useful for tracker programs.
Screenshot

Hide n/a options in event analysis: In event reports and visualizer there is a
new option for hiding n/a data items. Often, several data elements might not
have a value for events which will lead to rows and columns with a count of
n/a. From “Options” “Hide n/a data” you can now easily hide all those items
when desired.
Demo | Screenshot

This relative periods: New relative periods have been added for this week, this
month, this quarter and this six-month in all five analysis apps and analytics
Web API.
Screenshot

Aggregation type: In data visualizer you can specify the aggregation type for
the chart items. You can select between sum, count, std dev, variance, max, and
min. This is useful when more than one aggregation type is needed per data
element. Std dev and max/min are useful to look for outlier values and data
quality issues. The demo shows std deviation for immunization doses
administered.
Demo | Screenshot

Identifier schemes in analytics output: You can choose between using UID, code
and name as identifiers when you download pivot tables or access the analytics
Web API. This is useful e.g. when you want to export aggregated data and
exchange it with a third-party system which are synchronized on meta-data codes.

CONFIGURATION AND SYSTEM MAINTENANCE FEATURES

Variable substitution in SQL views: You can insert variables directly in SQL
views and pass in values to be substituted in the request URL. This adds
flexibility in how you create SQL statements, and can improve performance since
you can place variables in the main where query, as opposed to filtering the
entire result set as it is done with the existing criteria function.
Demo | Docs | Screenshot

Materialized SQL views: You can create materialized SQL views. In the “add new
SQL view” screen you can select “Materialized SQL view”. Materialized views
store a copy of the actual result set of the view query. This performs better
than regular SQL views which needs to be retrieved from the underlying table
each time. The down
Demo | Screenshot

Option set and long text attribute types: Dynamic meta-data attributes can now
be of type option set, which display as a drop-down selection field; and long
text, which has no length limit and displays as a text area.
Demo | Screenshot

Resend user invitations: In the user app list of users, you can re-send
invitations to create user accounts by clicking on an unrealized account
invitation. This is useful as people sometimes fail to notice the invitation
email or it ends up in spam filters. Requires full system authority.
Screenshot

Identifier and code matching in GML import: The GML importer lets you match
incoming features using UIDs and codes. Previously only matching name was
supported. This is useful for scenarios where established identifier / code
lists are in use.
Docs

Footers in email messages: A footer with a reply link has been added to email
messages. This is useful in order to easily reply to messages which are read in
an email client. This

Hi,

we experience some 100% figures in data completeness figures in the
Senegal database in the data visualizer. For example, it can show 102% for a
region, then we identify one of its districts as having 108%, but then at
facility level there are only max 100% values (and some 0%). In the dataset
completeness reports, we don't find this problem. I'm unable to track down
what is wrong. Any suggestions? It's dhis 2.16

 Hi all,
DHIS 2 version 2.17 is out. We have a wide range of features and improvements
for you. The main focus of this release has been performance, analytics, data
exchange and interoperability.

Better performance and scalability: Several parts of the system work faster and
smoother, including loading of the organisation unit tree, loading of meta-data
in data entry, import and export of data and generation of resource tables.
Data entry meta-data now respects the offline hierarchy level setting, making
it possible to handle very large org unit trees and number of data sets.
Demo

Option codes: Options in option sets now have codes as well as names, where the
code cannot be changed. This implies that options are more robust, since the
name of the option can be changed and translated into multiple languages
without affecting existing data or attribute values. All apps will display the
option name in the user interface and use the option code for fetching data
from the system. In the list of option sets, click option management to view
options:
Demo | Demo

Average aggregation operator: Analytics now support an average aggregation
operator where data will averaged in both the time period and organisation unit
dimensions. The current average operator has been renamed to Average (sum in
org unit hierarchy) to better reflect what it is actually doing.
Screenshot

Long text: The system support long text data values and comments. A data value
can now store up to 60'000 characters, which is the equivalent of 12 pages of
text. This makes the system suitable as a text repository. This is useful e.g.
for using to system to store narratives linked to data elements and
organisation units. See form Mortality 5 Narratives on demo:
Demo | Screenshot

Text in analytics: The analytics engine now support text. This means that you
can produce pivot tables and standard reports with textual content. This is
useful e.g. to present narratives next to data element values in the same
report.
Demo

Browser support notification: The front page now shows a notification for
people using a browser which is not supported by DHIS 2. From version 2.17,
Internet Explorer versions 6, 7 and 8 are no longer supported.
Screenshot

Apps as start page: External apps can now be set as start page from settings
appearance start page.
Demo

Display name in analysis apps: A new user setting lets you define whether to
use the name or the short name of meta-data items in all analysis apps, both
aggregate and event-based. As an example, it lets you define whether to display
the full name or short name of data elements in the pivot table app. You can
access user settings from Profile Settings:
Demo

Simpler event analysis UI: The selection of data items in event reports and
event visualizer has become simpler to use. You can now easily select and
remove items from dynamic drop-downs.
Demo

Event analysis option ordering: The order of options in option sets are now
respected in event-based pivot tables and charts.
Demo

Visualizer meter charts: The visualizer app supports meter charts, using
background-color from the assigned legend set of the indicator.
Demo

Visualizer sorting: Sorting of categories in charts is supported in visualizer.
It lets you sort high-to-low and low-to-high based on the data value of the
first chart series.
Demo

Total options: Pivot table and event reports now have separate options for
including column totals/sub-totals and row totals/sub-totals. Look for Show
column totals and more under table options.
Demo | Screenshot

Pivot table dimension labels: The pivot table app displays the name of the data
dimension as a label in the top left corner. This can be controlled through the
option called  Hide dimension labels under table options.
Demo | Screenshot

Data entry future periods: When a data set is set to allow future dates, you
can now select any year in the future in data entry. Have a look at the
Mortality 5 years form on the demo:
Demo

Indicators in section forms: In section based forms in data entry you can now
include indicators, which will be automatically calculated in the same way as
for custom forms. Have a look at the Reproductive health form:
Demo | Screenshot

Message multi-select: The message inbox support multi-select of messages with
accompanying operations for marking messages as read, marking as unread and
removal.

2014-11-02 Thread Muhire Andrew
Dear All,
It looks like the hiperlink to html user documentation is not well set ( eg, go
to Data visualiser chapter and click, this takes you to GIS part. Its a small
fix (not linked to my browser cache, joking)
Much appreciated.

Re: [Dhis2-users] daily data entry

2014-10-22 Thread Muhire Andrew
This gets easy when you use tracker/event based reporting, but daily depends on
the entity you are entering data, if it is entering data for different entities
in one day/categories can help, this is possible but one entity more than one
time per day??? I am not sure. This is suitable for event based.

In 2.14, i was trying to disable one user but apparently no way we can identify

I would suggest to put like ! or ? or any sign for disabled users. Or we can
use the 2.13 approach of disabling users.

[Dhis2-users] Suggestion on the Validation rule using surveillance [User role to alert]

Dear Community,

I have one input to make on Validation rule using surveillance, instead of
having User role to alert, It can be more better to use User group. Because it
is possible to have one user role working on different categories of users.
This can make us to create a user role called alertMCH, ALERTMALARIA,
ALERTIMMUNISATION.BUT USER GROUP CAN BE A SOLUTION.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Testing Mobile module but no data in data entry

Hi
Our case was that + of the country code, because after removing it, it worked.
Interesting part is that we removed the + on the country code without adding
two zeros but it worked(250 788xx). May be this need to be improved. I
think we need some validations or output messages on these sensitive fields,
like phone numbers.

Here is the error message :No user associated with this phone number. Please
contact your supervisor.

As Knut suggests, i think using integer can solve the problem.

I would think we can easily disallow  a leading + sign, in fact, given that we
start with ISO country code, I think we could require the number to be an
integer. This means that people must avoid parentheses, spaces etc., which I
think is reasonable.

use the local number at any country by adding +250, which means + is important.

think we need some validations or output messages on these sensitive fields,
like phone numbers.

Here is the error message :No user associated with this phone number. Please

As Knut suggests, i think using integer can solve the problem.

I would think we can easily disallow  a leading + sign, in fact, given that we
start with ISO country code, I think we could require the number to be an
integer. This means that people must avoid parentheses, spaces etc., which I
think is reasonable.

[Dhis2-users] Option of Sharing or restriction of Data element groups and groupsets in pivot table to a group

2013-12-20 Thread Muhire Andrew
Hi all,

We are receiving many requests from services for either migrating or
customizing their reports into DHIS2. which make us to think about expanding
public view or group view on data elements groups or datasets in some reports.
This is tiresome to some of our Users when they want to see only their datasets
in either dataset report or Reporting rate summary.

Now the challenge of managing a big number of Datasets from diffenent services
is that, Some Departments are only interested to see only data related to their
service in pivot table feature, reporting rate summary and Dataset report. This
option is important since most of our countries are using tracker which is
sensitive(Tabular report). I would suggest to make it optional on sharing Data
element group and groupsets through Pivot table and Datasets through reporting
rate summary or Datasets report.

Eg. someone in charge of TB: Make it Optional: to set on either see all or only
see the data elements or groups that belongs to TB units. This will reduce the
scroll down of groups that are unnecessary. Some time people complain to have
this option on their sensitive indicators or data elements.

This can be done using Groups, eg ME team group: will be able to view all but
some partners are only interested on limited or their indicators and Datasets
in reports. The same applies to individual records through tabular reports.

This will not make data private(optional) but share based on what people want
and reduce complains on some services.

This  option will help us to manage big numbers of datasets and share data
accordingly since DHIS2 is becoming the single reporting tool.

Regards!

Re: [Dhis2-users] Clarification on Organisation unit, groups and group sets

2013-12-05 Thread Muhire Andrew
Hi Jason,
Thanks for your quick reactions
You are right, we always have to run integrity checks to be sure. And we do
this always but from both of comments, the logic of Orgunit group vs group set
is becoming clearer. So in reality in HIS one facility can be a member of more
than one group, So it becomes a problem if the two  groups where the facility
belongs appear in one group set.  If not it means no violation will happen.

Hi Andrew,

There is never any duplication of data. If a facility belongs to both the
Private as well as Public organisation unit groups, which in turn belong to
a single group set called Ownership, what you get will not always be very
clear. This is is because in the _orgunitgroupsetstructure table, there is a
single entry per group set. Which one the system chooses, is not always clear,
and may lead to unexpected results. This is the purpose of the data integrity
check, to be sure that a single orgunit does not belong to two groups, who are
members of a group set.

An orgunit should not belong to two organisation unit groups who are members

a member of the  Hospital as well as a Health facility orgunit group which
are members of an orgunit group set called Type, at least in the DHIS2 view
of things, and will result in a data integrity violation. Similarly, it should
not be both Private and Public. Membership in organisation unit groups
which are part of a group set, should be exclusive.

If the organisationunit group is not a member of a group set, then memership
in multiple groups is possible.

Of course, there are exceptions, like being both Norwegian and Swedish. But
DHIS2 will only consider membership in one of these, and it is not always
clear which one you may get. So, be sure you do not have any data integrity
violations for the orgunit groups.

Usually, one orgunit should belong to exactly one group in each group sets. So
if you have 5 group sets (dimensions), each facility would normally belong to 5
groups, one in each group set.

There are some complications: We do for example allow groups that don't belong
to a group set, and you don't HAVE to classify every orgunit along all
dimensions if you feel it is not needed. But I would advise to do so unless you
have compelling reasons not to.

[Dhis2-users] Expired password

2013-12-02 Thread Muhire Andrew
Hi all,

Here is my inputs to DHIS2 may be for the future releases:

-To avoid people from may be misusing, risks of User and Passwrd caching to
their browsers memory, it can be more better if we make it optional on setting
passwords. Like password to expire on date xx/xx/. This is important
because some Users requests the usernames and passwords for only research
purposes in a given period. eg like only 3 months here the system can be able
to automatically block he/she from logging in. On Facility users, it can be
better to have a specific period and they all alerted to their emails and
forced to change the password.(Note that this is optional).

-Another part is if someone prompt and fails to log in several times eg: 6 or
more times the system automatically blocks that person and sends the message to
the administrator for him to check if its not an intruder.

I am very sure this can be suitable for the stable systems.

Regards!

Hi David, this also happened in Rwanda but in other way, it was a Dashboard
case with no menus, May be our case was different from yours because the
upgrade was from 2.12 to 2.13.

I f you are using nginx as a web server, It keeps on caching the previous
memory and lead to unexpected errors on the webpage. You have to clear your
nginx cache.

Hi David,
I am not sure what the exact problem could be, but we had a number of issues
when upgrading to 2.11 to 2.13. This was caused by a number of things you
should check for.

1) Invalid expressions in indicators
2) Invalid expressions with no indicators, or which otherwise cannot be
upgraded
3) Orgunit groups with the same name

You may see an error in the debugging mode of your browser, which throws an
error when trying to retrieve the metadata. You should also check your server
logs when you try and load the data entry forms.

Of course, you should be 100% sure you have cleared your browser cache
completely, as this could also be a problem.

Jason

Has anyone experienced this and what is the solution ?  I have attached a
screenshot for the same to act as a guide.

Re: [Dhis2-users] information needed

2013-08-01 Thread Muhire Andrew
Hi Stephen, in Rwanda mydatamart is working well and we are using  DHIS 2.12,
What you have to do is to  make sure that the user roles has access to
mydatmart. this is done by going to the user role and edit by adding  access
mydatamart. Note that users will not access mydatamart till you give them
access.

Re: [Dhis2-users] How do reports get registered as not on time?

2013-04-19 Thread Muhire Andrew

Hi Knut, there is another way this can be done but it looks hard to the upper
level but very good to the lower level , a superuser or another role with
access privilages on this sets the days for the dataset to be considered as
complete(from settings)then you press services---reports---summary rate
report. Here you will get expected and actual reports plus reports on time on
this specific level. Another way is to check if all reports were submitted you
just use report table.

This can be overridden by a supervisor who creates a lock exception to

Is it only in these cases that a report becomes registered as being not on
 time?

One option is to set up email configuration (system settings - email), then go
to data sets and for the data sets you need notifications you can enable the
following properties:

- Send notification to completing user: This will send a message to the user
who completes the form / data set.

- Complete notification recipients: Here you can select a user group - members
of this user group will receive notifications every time any user completes
this form / data set.

Messages will be delivered in the DHIS messaging inbox and to email if users
have enabled it.

Subject: [Dhis2-users] DHIS version 2.11 is released

Hi all,

DHIS version 2.11 is out and we have some great features for you:

- Web-based pivot table: Allows you to create pivot tables with data aggregated
along all data dimensions, including data element/organisation unit group sets.
Data dimensions can be arranged freely on columns, rows and as filters. You can
include totals and subtotals on all axis and control the table density and font
size under options. Your pivots can be saved as favorites and downloaded to
your local computer. This design goal is to allow users to create their own
reports with the data they need without any involvement of super-users.

A pivot table with immunization indicators for last 4 quarters by facility
ownership, type and location can be made like this (log in with admin/district):

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-pivot/app/index.html?id=XWXTmFUffng

A pivot table with number of diagnosis by facility ownership and type with
totals and subtotals looks like this (notice that diagnosis are data element
groups):

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-pivot/app/index.html?id=vlnZeGhgw1T

A pivot table for vaccines, broken down on categories, age group and point of
service, last 12 months:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-pivot/app/index.html?id=z31v4RMNqnu

A pivot table with reporting rates, major forms for public facilities by
location and type, last 12 months:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-pivot/app/index.html?id=VHewKMjyLnR

We encourage you to play around - select dimension items for the left menu and
arrange dimensions from Layout in the top menu. Documentation can be found
here:

http://dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/user/html/ch15.html

- Data analytics Web-API resource: A flexible API for retrieving aggregated,
analytical data for all data dimensions using a simple query syntax. The pivot
table module is built on top of this API. It allows developers of third-party
apps and web portals to connect to DHIS 2 and query for any type of aggregated
data, where any number of dimensions and filters can be specified. Data can be
retrieved in json, jsonp, xml, csv, html and xls (Excel) format and responses
can be constrained with criteria like greater than, equals and so on.

A query for retrieving data for certain data elements, periods and organisation
units might look like this:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/api/analytics?dimension=dx:fbfJHSPpUQD;cYeuwXTCPkUdimension=pe:2012Q1;2012Q2dimension=ou:O6uvpzGd5pu;lc3eMKXaEfw

Documentation can be found here:

http://dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/user/html/ch25s18.html

- Sharing: Several objects including chart, pivot table, map, indicator and
data set can now be shared and have fine-grained access control. An object can
be made private to yourself, shared with any number of user groups or be made
available for all. You can grant edit or view-only rights to other people. You
can create user groups directly from the dashboard. Who should be allowed to
create public objects can be controlled through user roles.

This functionality is useful for example in a scenario where entities like
health programs and implementing partners need to create indicators and reports
which should be available only for members of their organisation. In this case,
an organisation can create a user group for their staff, then develop charts
and maps which could be made available for that organisation only. General
reports made

[Dhis2-users] Suggestion on event list on Single Event Without Registration

2013-01-25 Thread Muhire Andrew
Hi all,

In Patient record when someone uses Single Event Without Registration after
entering data, you can have a list of all events entered but if a user wants to
make any correction it’s difficult to know which is which because no
identifier, I would suggest to have one optional field to put identifier eg
like Audit number, etc. this will help user to quickly know from 20 forms
entered a day which is the one I want to make correction instead of randomly
checking each form. Again in this Event list, In the first column we have
incremental numbers that keeps changing, so its not helping users to identify
the form.

Did anyone came across this issue from the Users?

Thanks!

Hi,
when you go to data entry and choose a program, you will automatically get a
list/table of the latest events that have been entered. You can specify for
each programme which columns/data elements to display in this list, which
should make it easier both the find errors and correct them.

Subject: [Dhis2-devs] DHIS 2 version 2.10 released

Hi all,

DHIS 2 version 2.10 has been released. The major features this time:

- We have included elements from social networking: You can self-register a
user account, create your own profile, post messages and share interpretations.
You can easily search and find other peoples profiles and communicate through
messages.

- A completely new GIS module, rewritten from scratch, which comes with much
faster load time, more intuitive user interface and more features.

- A brand new web-based mobile client with offline support for smartphones. It
lets you enter data, send messages and manage your profile.

All new features:

1. GIS: All map layers can be saved as a single favorites. You can create nice
maps containing multiple layers and save it all together in a single favorite.
You can also share map favorites as interpretations by first loading or saving
a favorite, then clicking share on the top menu. Log in with admin/district:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-mapping/app/index.html?id=m16KunJ3pbi

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-mapping/app/index.html?id=GmIDubfPzCU

2. GIS: Improved favorite user interface with paging and free-text search. You
can rename, overwrite, delete and add the favorite to your dashboard straight
from the list. Click on Favorites in the top menu:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-mapping/app/index.html

Documentation here:

http://dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/user/html/ch15.html

3. GIS: Display surrounding areas as circles around facilities in order to
visualize density of facility services:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-mapping/app/index.html?id=y3jLMnZTV6i

4. Web-based mobile client for smartphones: We have a new mobile client which
lets you enter aggregate data, send and receive messages and manage your
profile. The data entry functionality works offline, meaning you only need
connectivity for downloading the data entry forms and submitting data to the
server. In between you can stay offline and enter data for as long as you want.
It is targeted at smartphones with touch-based interfaces, and works on all
Android versions from 2.1 and above. With the rapidly decreasing price on
smartphones this client is a compelling alternative for mobile data entry,
compared with the complexity and issues with compatibility, installations and
upgrade associated with native Java clients.

Check it out by pointing your mobile browser to this link, enter
mobile/district as username/password and select smartphone as mobile version,
then click login:

[Dhis2-users] Making compulsary data element optional

2012-10-15 Thread Muhire Andrew
Hi,

In reporting rate summary if someone selects an option says: Based
on compulsory data elements, and in custom forms we have data element with
category A B and B is disabled, If we run reporting rate summary will it not
count this B and displays o% score, or the system counts only data elements
that is linked to the form? Or its best in section forms?

Suggestion :

1.What if we make it optional and  put another button that we can select so
that if a user puts nothing to the compulsory data element the system`s
complete button refuses to validate as complete till these selected data
elements are filled. (we make it optional).

2.Making it optional to validation rules also.

The reason for this is that some of the users can click on complete and submit
blank sections, so if we make it compulsory with options it can be good.

thanks!

Thanks, Andrew. I understand the option; my only suggestion is to change the
default behavior as a more conservative approach. But I guess it depends on the
majority of use cases.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Store 0 by default

2012-10-03 Thread Muhire Andrew
Hi Tom,

On my side, i think its logical to make it optional(store zero value), because
some of the country would not like to see zero`s in their database depending on
what they are collecting.

Back to the point, there is a useful functionality that automatically switches
store zero value to yes or No

Here is the quickest way to do this go toData administration--Zero value
storageHere you can specify which data values may store zero`s or not. if
you want all to store zero you make sure all data elements are moved using move
all.

Thanks

Andrew

Somehow I missed changing the setting for storing 0 values even though I was
aware of it. For me 0 values are important (“0 cases” is very different from an
“Unknown amount of cases”). I would suggest changing the default setting on
installation to store 0 values rather than ignore as this gives the user the
option to change this in the future. In my case, unfortunately this data is
lost :(

Re: [Dhis2-users] Need help with patient-based data elements

2012-10-02 Thread Muhire Andrew
Hi Marlene,

If am not wrong you can Use : Option set

Maintenance---Data administration--Option set (Here you can
predefine these data values)
So after creating these option set , you just assign them to the specific data
element where you want them to display. In DE we have this field for option set.

I created the data element with text value type, a data element category with

But the predefined list does not appear when i try to enter data for an

The categories will then be listed as columns.

Yup. We can put it back if it is critical.

In case you are not aware of it.. Another way of doing what you say is
to set up the compulsory data elements. Click on the edit compulsory
data elements and set those data elements who will always have data.
Then the reporting rates will be based on the number of data sets
where those data elements have data (when selecting that option in
reporting rate viewer).

 Hi Tom,

sorry about that. The reason for removing it is that we recommend
people not to store zero values and rather rely on completeness
registrations and compulsory data elements to measure reporting rates.
Then this option would give very low scores and caused a lot of
 questions.

[Dhis2-users] Mydatamart issue?

In Rwanda we have 4 months data in our DHIS2 database, And downloading data for
the whole 4 months, Excel gives an overloading error or can even
burst...Any advice on using mydatamart?   how are you
running it over there? ..This issue happens when we download aggregated
data from facility levelI would suggest to have a selection box
in mydatamart where a user can select only the data elements or Indicators to
be analysed insteady of having the whole staff.

In Rwanda, users are used on row data from MYDATAMART,now 4 months its
impossible to download to excel at the central level what will happen in
upcoming months?

Hi Andrew,

Do you know how many rows that is returned from your pivot source query?

The mydatmart tool is designed for what Jason describes in option 1) in his
email.

Also note that we require Excel 2007 or newer for pivot tables to work properly
with mydatamart (on metatdata updates and re-linking of mydatamart files and
excel).

The user selects its orgunit and then the analysis level (the lowest level of
the orgunit hierarchy needed for analysis). Typically you will not need to look
at facility level for general data analysis at the national level, and in stead
you can probably pick district level.

At the districts the users can still select facility as the analysis level and
download facility level data to their local mydatamart files and load that into
Excel.

To facilitate this difference in analysis level in mydatamart/Excel you
typically will need to use at least two different Excel files (pivot table
template files), one for national level users with pivot tables that pull
district level data (e.g. the pivotsource_routinedata_ou2_m query), and another
excel file for district users with facility level data (using
pivotsource_routinedata_ou4_m - where facility level = level 4).

Note that Excel will automatically aggregate the data for you in the pivot
tables, so you can easily look at  district totals also in the pivot table with
facility level data. The difference is how deep you can drill down, what the
lowest level of analysis is; the district-level pivot table will never be able
to show facility data.

When you have data for more than 1 year you can also consider breaking up the
pivot table by either calendar or financial year by inserting custom sql
queries in  your mydatamart file that filter data rows on the periods.

In my experience the pivot tables start to get really slow when you get above
7-800 000 rows, but that of course also depends on your hardware.

I have promised to write up a section on setting up pivot tables with
mydatamart to the user documentation, so look out for commits to the
documentation branch in the next few weeks if you're interested in more details
on this topic.

And. to make your life a lot easier, I would consider getting rid of most of
those zero values Lars just referred to you probably only require that for
a few selected data elements.

Ola

Hi Andrew,
I do not know all of the circumstances of your data, but in general,
Excel is limited by a certain number of rows and columns. I think
Excel 2003 is limited to around 65,000 rows and Excel 2007 to over 1
million rows. PivotTables are limited by the amount of available
memory on your machine. If your dataset has more than this, you can do
a few things.

1) Use a higher level of aggregation. Instead of pulling data at the
facility level for the entire country, use the district level (or
something higher) this will decrease the number of rows which must be
pulled into Excel. Similarly, looking at quarterly data, versus
monthly data will decrease the amount of data which needs to be
retrieved by Excel.

2) Filter the rows which are pulled from MyDatamart with some type of
filter in the pivot source query. This normally is done using a filter
on either the _dataelementgroupsetstructure or
_indicatorgroupsetstructure table of the MyDatamart database. This
will allow you to for instance, pull only PMTCT indicators into an
Excel sheet, without pulling unrelated indicators, and then having to
filter them in the Excel table. You will need to modify and install
some new SQL views in MyDatamart to use this approach.

3) Consider using other tools, such as R/SPSS/Stata for analysis which
do not have such limitations.

We regularly analyze rather largish datasets (for Excel anyway) with

Subject: [Dhis2-users] DHIS version 2.8 released

Hi all,

DHIS version 2.8 is release. The news this time is:

- Data visualizer plugin: Plugin for embedding the dynamic charts you see in
Data Visualizer module directly in Web pages. Data is loaded from the DHIS
back-end server. Example here:

http://apps.dhis2.org/portal/plugin.html

Documentation here:

http://dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/user/html/ch24s07.html

- Tracker tabular report: Interactive analysis tool for all types of tracker
data. Can display data element values and beneficiary attributes and
identifiers. Lets you filter on any of the columns in a table and download the
data to Excel and PDF. Follows the same user interface principles as Data
Visualizer module. Check it out here, for instance by selecting the Delivery
returns program, selecting org unit and data elements and clicking Update:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-caseentry/app/index.html

(Demo login is admin/district)

- Search and browse beneficiary history: See the complete history of a
beneficiary from programs and single events by clicking on the blue info icon
in the list of beneficiaries. See it here by going straight down in the org
unit tree and selecting the first facility:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-caseentry/patient.action

- Dedicated import-export function for data values: You no longer risk messing
up your meta-data when doing data value import. Data values are now matched on
the stable identifiers of the meta-data (like data elements and org units).

This means that you can safely import data as records will either be imported
if they match your meta-data or ignored if not. It also means that remote
systems can change the names of data elements and org units and still be able
to exchange data values with the central system - records are matched on the
stable identifiers which cannot be changed in the user interface. See the demo:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-importexport/displayImportDataValueForm.action?importFormat=xml

- CSV data value import-export: Data can be imported and exported using the CSV
format (as well as the DHIS XML format called DXF). This provides an easy way
to bootstrap DHIS systems from external sources and achieve interoperability
with legacy systems as CSV is very widespread and is easy to contstruct
manually. Check it out here:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-importexport/displayDataValueExportForm.action

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-importexport/displayImportDataValueForm.action?importFormat=csv

Documentation here:

http://dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/user/html/ch18s04.html

- Cumulative values in report tables: For each column you can include a
cumulative value column by ticking Include cumulative in the add report table
screen. This enabled you to make nice progress reports like this:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/api/reports/Kvg1AhYHM8Q/data.pdf?ou=ImspTQPwCqd

- Reporting rates aggregation over time: The data mart process is now producing
aggregate reporting rates over time. This means for instance that you can get
quarterly and yearly reporting rates for monthly data sets in reports, such as
the one below. Reporting rates are also aggregated in parallel processes which
means performance scales almost linearly with the available processor cores on
your server.

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-reporting/exportTable.action?uid=xqGIgjysoc6pe=2012-01-01ou=ImspTQPwCqd

- Org unit group set analysis in Data Visualizer: You can now do analysis on
groups and create charts based for instance on facility type and ownership. In
the organisation unit tab select a group set (e.g. Type) from the group set
list and then the parent organisation unit. An example is here:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-visualizer/app/index.html?id=wLPFpNTTLE5

-Reporting rates in Data Visualizer: You can now create charts with reporting
rates for all data sets by using the reporting rates tab in the left side menu.
They can also be combined with indicators and data elements as you prefer:

http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-visualizer/app/index.html?id=MhZZglImm3o

I don't think this had to do with changing data element names since I was

think I changed any names or categories.

Clearing the cache didn't seem to clear things up either, unfortunately.

Do I need to really dig into the tables then?

Not very helpful. When  I changed (New) to (Foo) it got the same

I do not know what you data element is, but normally that error
happens when a data element exists in the custom form, which does not
exist in the database. You may need to clear your cache completely in
order for the new form to appear. Otherwise, the full stack trace
would be helpful for the devs.

I saved the custom version anyway and then went to data entry which now had
an exception. So I went back to the custom form screen, deleted it, but
there is still an exception for data entry.

 Here's the exception code:

Dear users,

Sometimes we are asked to give facilities that reported on time [Summary
report] and the same time the last time that the user made corrections
independently from the data entry time[After data quality audit from the
field]. Dear user is this possible?
Eg: Having two independent reports that shows Andrew entered data on
20/march/2012 and his latest corrections is on 28/march/2012 , this will be the
evidence for the users corrections.

There is another thing that looks like A bug in Data completeness report where
we get Actual figures are greater than Target. And in normal way the target has
to be higher.

Thanks!

Hello,

most reporting tools - all reporting tools starting from 2.8 - read
data from the data mart. Data mart is a data repository (db tables)
optimized for data analysis / queries containing aggregated data
records.

So you need to populate the data mart after entering data. To do a
one-off data mart population you go to Reports under maintenance
modules - Data mart.

To set up scheduled (nightly, automatic) data mart jobs to keep the
data mart up to date you go to Data administration under services -
Scheduling.

Hi Andrew

Hard to say exactly without seeing the metadata.  Usually there is
either some problem with the categories or their are some strange
categories in use which are not being properly escaped by mydatamart.
Is this the metadata from your hmis instance?  If so I can check it
out and let you know if I get the same issue.

Hi all,

as we continue to develop and expand DHIS 2 to me it makes sense to
revise and eventually remove functionality which is not in active use
or is not of desired quality in order to keep the code base healthy.
In that regard I propose we remove the following functions:

- Tally sheet generator (in Reports module). It seems that most
places will remain with printed forms for a long time to come.

- Sort order property and Display property settings (under User
general settings in Settings module).

- Gap analysis (in Data quality module).

Is anyone using these? If I don't hear anything in a weeks time these
will be removed.

[Dhis2-users] Running integrity checks on datasets with unlinked data element?

2012-01-11 Thread Muhire Andrew

Hi to all,
i would like to run integrity check to see the data element that are in dataset
that are not linked to the form. Is this possible? Not data element without
dataset ( data element in dataset that is not linked to the form). Because this
affects data completeness report(based on data values) where by the target
column counts all linked and nonlinked data elements which can confuse users.
Per now i just use a manual checking.

Subject: [Dhis2-users] DHIS version 2.6 released

 Hi all,

DHIS version 2.6 is released. We have a long list of improvements:

 1. A new Web API module which provides read access to most objects in
the system and read access to data values and messages: All resources
are uniquely identified by URLs and have a rich set of representation
formats; currently HTML, XML, JSON and JSONP. The resources are linked
and navigable meaning that you can easily move between related
resources using hyperlinks (for instance from the list of data sets to
one particular data set, then to one particular data element). Certain
resources (map, chart, report, report table and resource) have a
special view of the aggregate data (rather than the meta-data info)
which can be accessed by appending /data to the URL.

The primary purpose of the Web API is to make DHIS suitable as a
platform for third-party software clients and systems such as Web
portals, content management systems, dashboards and mobile device
clients. It provides a machine-readable API from where such clients
can retrieve the desired data over the well-known HTTP protocol,
without need for any knowledge of the DHIS internal technologies and
implementation. You can explored it here:

 http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/api/resources
 http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/api/charts/j1gNXBgwKVm
 http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/api/maps/H6jRsZXfDAp

A small demo on how reports, charts and maps produced by DHIS can be
embedded in a Web portal can be found here:

 http://dhis2.org/portal

A more detailed write-up of the purpose and context of the Web API can
 be found here:

 http://dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/implementer/html/full.html#d5e1545

 2. Saved charts in data visualizer module: After creating a chart and
data table you can now save it as a favorite by clicking on the
Favorites button in the top menu, then on Manage favorites. This
makes it easy to later reload your chart and also put it on your
personal dashboard in the dashboard module. Favorites can be saved as
personal or system views (if user is authorized). This means that
users can create their own personal charts without affecting the list
 of charts for other users.

The old chart user interface in reporting module has been removed -
the data visualizer module is now the place to create charts. Please
note the new Chart options panel on the left menu - all options from
the old charts are there but at the moment only implemented in the
image  version of the charts (accessible from the dashboard). We will
soon implement these options in the client-side charts in data
visualizer module in order to make both versions compatible.

 http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-visualizer/app/index.html

 http://dhis2.org/doc/snapshot/en/user/html/full.html#d927e2985

 3. Anonymous events: The beneficiary module now provides functionality
for registering anonymous events. Use-cases for such events are birth
certificates, nutrition surveys and inpatient morbidity/mortality
registries. Data for any number of data elements can be defined and
registered for a single event (no attributes).

Programs must be marked as single event and anonymous in
beneficiary module. Under Event registration in data records module
you can register the anonymous events. Start by clicking on Create
new event, then fill the entry form before clicking Complete data
 entry.

 http://apps.dhis2.org/demo/dhis-web-caseentry/anonymousRegistration.action

(Select e.g. the first facility in the tree, Ngelehun CHC.)

 4. Organisation unit group set analysis in data mart and report table:
The data mart engine now produces two new data mart tables for data
element and indicator data aggregated by organisation unit groups. In

Dear DHIS Users,
Is Data completeness report options working properly? this is an important
feature!

But in Data completeness, when  you select the option that says Based on
number of registered data values  and you select all other option and press
get report. The result does not correspond the fields. For example : Target
does not correspont to the Actual column. which shows differences between
Actual column and Target column(even this keeps happening after filling these
fields. where Target Actual).

Dear stephen,
Sometime when you install  DHIS2 it happens and you find DHIS2 is not opening:
Please check if this is not problem:
-The name of the database, password postgres and hibernate properties
-Tomcat port 8080 and 8088 if you have either skype that have already used
default port.

Re: [Dhis2-users] Period displayed according to the user computer/laptop time set?

2011-12-06 Thread Muhire Andrew
Dear Dhis2-Users:
Last time i was in training and i created a network with a well set time
Server, but two of my Users their time was in December and the training was in
November then i came to realise that their data entry menu that displays period
also December was displayed (note that this happened in only two laptops that
was using wrong time set), and practically we know that DHIS2 displays the
curent month only. My question is does Dhis display period for data entry
depending on client time set or its a server based time set?  if its based on
client machine we need to communicate this in these trainings.

Subject: [Dhis2-users] need some help

Hi All,

I am planning a training for end users and I have decided to use the
dhis2/elearning site to conduct the training but there are some
features that I see that is no in version 2.5.

For example in 2.3 there were buttons that could be used to switch
between custom, section and default forms but under the most recent
version 2.5 it is not available, also in the 2.3 when a custom form is
designed and you are doing data entry you had the ability to Hide/show
section data by clicking on the section header but I am not seeing
this happening in 2.5.

Also in the Data entry history for  Follow Up: In the data history
window there is also a feature to tag or star a value. E.g. a
suspicious value that needs further investigation can be kept in the
system, but marked for Follow-Up that section I am also not seeing it
only comment section.

Will send more when I go through.

Thanks

Stephen

I can see its possible to link one data element to two or more
different dataset, Did this affect anything?  eg one data element exit in both

Hi,

most operations are cached at the database layer so when doing manual database
operations outside dhis you will need to either restart the application or
clear the cache by going to adminstration - cache statistics and clicking
clear cache.

Dear Arther, i think you have to consider data element category since you are
talking of OPD and IPD.This can differ depending on  their categories. (Make
sure they all have same category eg Age is the same,Gender the same). Because
most of the data element are the same but differ when you see their categories.

Hi Andrew,

you need to remove the data with SQL in the database. Run:

delete from datavalue_audit where dataelementid=id;
delete from datavalue where dataelementid=id;

and replace id with the dataelementid of the one you want to remove.

You can then go ahead and delete the data element in the user interface.

As a rule of thumb, it is usually wise to do a SELECT before a DELETE, so that
you are 100% sure you are not deleting data you really need.

In this case:

select * from datavalue_audit where dataelementid=id;
select * from datavalue where dataelementid=id;

It is best practice in all cases to ensure to you make a backup of your
database. Even with SELECT and DELETE, you may unknowingly make a typing
mistake. Anytime you start messing around with the database directly, ensure
you first make a backup, so that you can easily restore the database in case
you mess up something unintentionally.

Another trick is to use a SELECT INTO statement, to put all of the data you
are about to delete into a separate table, and then perform the delete
operation. This way, it is relatively easy to see what you have deleted and
restore it once again, without reverting to a complete backup restore.

Jason

Thank you all,
Great Knut its rilly good to select first and then delete because it can cause
problems in case i delete  the needed data.

As a rule of thumb, it is usually wise to do a SELECT before a DELETE, so that
you are 100% sure you are not deleting data you really need.

In this case:

select * from datavalue_audit where dataelementid=id;
select * from datavalue where dataelementid=id;

Hi Andrew,

you need to remove the data with SQL in the database. Run:

delete from datavalue_audit where dataelementid=id;
delete from datavalue where dataelementid=id;

and replace id with the dataelementid of the one you want to remove.

You can then go ahead and delete the data element in the user interface.
