[digitalradio] Re: CQWW RTTY Practice
So 2300Z tonight on 40M, and 0200Z on 80, is that correct? Going to do some casual contesting for this and welcome a bit of practice to break up some of the rust! Haven't been in a contest for about 30 years! 73 Dave KB3MOW --- In digitalradio@yahoogroups.com, Andrew O'Brien [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: -- Forwarded message -- From: J. Actually, let's do 30-minute practices to accommodate Europe better. The first one is more convenient for Europe and the NA East coast should be able to work them on the low bands. (20 will be fading on the P4-EU path while 80 will be starting up . 40 should be solid.) The later practice will accommodate NA coast to coast, primarily on 40 and 80 except for local ground wave on the higher bands. 2300-2330 UTC, Thursday 25 September 0200-0230 UTC, Friday 26 September Hope to work everyone everywhere on the weekend. Just need to get some more things fixed at the station here between now and then! 73 - Ed P49X (W0YK) ___ RTTY mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.contesting.com/mailman/listinfo/rtty -- Andy K3UK

Greetings and thank you.. Cpan came to the rescue as far as getting everything working but I have another problem in that I can't use fldigi3.0 or 3.02 or 3.03 and PSKMail1.0.. KDE and Gnome are just window managers, The X server does the work. It does not matter if you use KDE, ICEWM, Gnome, JWM or whatever window manager, as long as the X server is running and your libraries are loaded. The combination of libraries is tested on Debian based systems (mostly UBUNTU). It is possible that some libs you find in Slack are not compatible. The error messages on the console will tell you. To be able to help you we will need to know the error messages. if there are no error messages it should work. If you properly installed fldigi and pskmail the invocation (from any console terminal) is: fldigi pskmail 73, Rein PA0R -- http://pa0r.blogspirit.com Announce your digital presence via our Interactive Sked Page at http://www.obriensweb.com/sked 30M digital activity at http://www.projectsandparts.com/30m Recommended software : DM780, Multipsk, FLDIGI, Winwarbler ,MMVARI. [digitalradio] 160 Meter Operation
At 0048 UTC this morning I made a PSK31 contact with KC4SAW on 1807.365 kc. The lightning QRN is dropping and propagation conditions good so it's time to put up a 1/2 wave dipole or 1/4 wave inverted L and work some digital modes on 160 meters. 73 God Bless, Thomas F. What do you mean, 'can't use'? Wrong choice of words; I should have said I'm not able to get it to work. Maybe?? HI.. I have too many notes but at this point I am here: Have the binaries fldigi3.0 that came with the PSKMail package and pskmail1.0 in user space--in my case /home/w8mch.. Invoking, from either Xterm or rxvt; fldigi3.0--I set the mode to psk250 and the modem config to PTT /dev/ttyS1 and RTS with PortAudio checked.. This creates the .fldigi files.. Shutting that down I startx again with Xterm or rxvt and invoke: fldigi3.0 pskmail1.0 enter and fldigi appears as normal, a small wait, then pskmail appears but the xterm window repeats Sound error: Connection timed out the waterfall stops and the rig goes PTT.. (I have Vol and Pcm turned off, or a dummy load connected.) A semi lock up happens with the Sound error: line repeating forever it seems.. Trying; same versions; but using separate Xterms for fldigi and pskmail; same as the 2nd xterm reports the psk1.0 Progam start preceeded by the time and date of course.. Waterfall locked/stopped.. I've, also, tried the same above with FLDigi3.02.npa and 3.03.npa binaries; same.. Does this all make sense?? TIA Appreciate!! I've been invoking 'fldigi pskmail' on the same line, except when trying the two Xterm approach.. Ugh.. -- Vy 73 de Hal--W8MCHUNIX-GNU/Linux - Slackware 11.0, 2.4.33.3 .
