Good day to everyone - I recently got a Icom IC-701 - and would love to
get it hooked up to the computer, so I can start doing some digital
stuff - their is a 24-pin accessory jack on the back - no problem with
getting the audio out, just can't figure out where the data in from the
computer would go? I have the data on the pin-out I can send to whoever
wants to take a look at it.

I am also interested in getting this radio working with ham radio deluxe
if possible - so I am assuming in order to make that work - I will need
to figure out what pin in the data in for the radio - and then I will
also have to deal with all the other wires for the radio control part -
what is the easiest way to make that interface? - is it designed to work
 through the serial port?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me -is whole world of HF is new to
me and then adding the computer stuff on top of it LOL. I have got it
figured out how to get my FT-60 and FT-8800 up on digital stuff - but no
not much of that going on their with VHF / UHF.

If you need more info, please let me know

Scott, the August 1984 QST (page 19) has details about this. I do not have
access to it but perhaps someone does.

You should have called Rick! That was the first RV ALE-400 QSO for me. John
tells me he's touring the country working digi-mode from his motorhome.
