Hello Andy,
Just a precision. The auto-mode detects the PSK mode between all Multipsk
BPSK modes (Chip included). However, the signal must be good because the
differences are sometimes really small as for example between BPSK63 and
BPSK63F (Nino's mode). It is based not on a quality of translation which
approach would be possible to implement (if all QSO were done in one
standard language and if one disposed of tools saying what is language and
what is garbage) but on the modulation parameters (speed, autocorrelation
etc...). It is, in fact, an interesting problem, completly different from
the decoding. As far as I know, there are no softwares which goal would be
to only discriminate between modes. It misses...

Subject: [digitalradio] Auto Mode in Multipsk...works
I have never really paid attention to the auto mode detection
feature in Multipsk. Today while onbseving PSK31 signals I noticed a
new signal start up and I clicked on it. Multipsk started to flash
PSK63, so I switched tot hat mode an decoded somecalling CQ. A nice
feature, perhaps of interest to those on this list.
