Re: [digitalradio] SDR-Radio.com Spectrum Scope
To be honest it's something you'll have to try - and at the end of Oct / early Nov you will be able to use it with some big SDR input files. The foreground spectrum is a display of the last five seconds' signal, the background is a time-weighted display of the laast 250ms signal. This is very similar to the IC-7800 scope with the addition of a waterfall. Simon HB9DRV From: Stephen Cannon I was looking at the recent (Sept 8, 2009) screen shots of Simon's SDR-Radio.COM software in the Developer News forum there and was wondering if someone here could explain to me a little of what I am looking at - besides the obvious. Specifically, when I was looking at the Spectrum Scope I initially thought it was displaying a 2D FFT, however, the colors of the peaks change such that it seems more like a 3D FFT in almost a 2D format - and I don't understand the colors. If this is a standard display, would someone point me towards a file, website or book that will explain it to me?

Re: [digitalradio] SDR-Radio.com
SDR-RADIO.com is a SDR console - connect a SDR radio such as the SoftRock receiver and you can receive 160m to 10m, at least 100kHz bandwidth at a time. Not just a receiver - it will decode CW (similar to CW skimmer), monitor for RSID / CALLID, do lots of other great things (tm) which are still t.b.a. Once I get it available you'll see what I mean. Later it will support TX using SDR as well. I assume that HRD and DM780 do all the work, so is it essentially just a 10 kHZ waterfall?
Re: [digitalradio] SDR-Radio.com
Hi, I agree that the SoftRock pages are confusing, you can only buy kits although it's easy to find someone who will construct for you. The RX-only is the v9, wait 'till SDR-RADIO.com is running then you can have a play. Simon Brown, HB9DRV www.ham-radio-deluxe.com - Original Message - From: Andrew O'Brien So, I have to get me one of them SDR radios. Just what is the deal with Softrock, are they for purchase commonly? The web page is awfully confusing, makes it looks like they are not fully in business. Genesis SDR's look promising but still very early in their deveopment at the moment.. FLEX , too many Euros for my budget.

I am in no particular mode, but DO have RS ID detect active. If I hear your RS ID within 3 kHz of where I am scanning, I will receive an audible alert. Try calling CQ with RS ID enabled at the beginning of your CQ and see if I hear you while scanning. -- Andy
