[slim] Cannot save playlist
Hi, when I select some albums and use the '+' sign to add them to the current playlist and I want to save them and give the playlist a name. It doesn't save it! (The playlist menu stays empty) When I try to save it via the SC server, it gives the same results. Any idea? This is probably not going to be much help but just to say I once had that same problem. (Slimserver 6.5.4) It seemed to create playlist files on the disk but wouldn't read them back. In the end I did a full rescan of the music library (clear first) and it fixed it. I've not had the problem since. [slim] Itunes integration: Only show playlists and not Itunes folders
Hi, I use automatic import from Itunes in SC 7. In Itunes I have grouped the playlists into different folders. In SC both the folders and the playlists show up. In SC the folder contains the sum of all songs included. What I would like is that only the Itunes playlists are visible in SC and not the Itunes folders. I have found no way to uncheck folders in Itunes. Any suggestions are appreciated. I received my 2nd Duet today (I always planned to have 2). I wanted to see if I would have problems setting up the 2nd receiver with a wireless connection as this would then confirm a firmware compatability issue with my router (Linksys WAG54GX2). Well, this was a different experience! I had the 2nd receiver setup (using the controller) in a couple of minutes and it was able to connect to SC on my music server with no power cycle reqd of the receiver or router. I wanted to compare the network settings (using Robin Bowes SBR Config tool) for the 2nd receiver with the 1st to see if there were any differences and these are listed below: Receiver 1 not working... [slim] time zone and squeezebox
I just moved from wyoming (Mountain Standard Time) to Ohio (Eastern Standard Time). I have a transporter and a squeezebox. I have changed the time and time zone on my computer, the one on which the squeezecenter runs. (Windows xp pro) My alarm time set up doesn't work correctly. If I set it to 5 am to wake me, it wakes me at 7am, as if I was in the mountain time zone. I can't find a setting to fix this. Any ideas? When someone writes the code. At present the public stance of SD/Logitech is that development of this feature will depend on the wider Squeezebox community (i.e., volunteer developers). I don't know the details well, but I vaguely recall that during the beta testing period some users managed to get it to work using squeezeslave. When I had this problem it was because the user that SqueezeCenter was running under (user slimserver) did not have permissions to write to the playlist directory. Hi, all. Forgive me if this has been answered; I couldn't find anything by searching. Is there a way to replace the generic radio tower icon that is displayed when playing a streaming station? I see in the image properties that it might reside somewhere called [server ip]/music/102/cover_96x96_p.png, but I can't find that directory or file in order to replace it with a custom graphic. [slim] Updating through SD card
I recieved my new Duet controller and I have tried to update the software on the device as per the instructions. This continually fails with an error saying Upgrade Failed and provides me with an option to try again. I tried to reboot by removing the battery. Also did a factory reset, but to no avail. I have downloaded the latest firmware and put it on a SD card, but I do not get the option to install from the SD card. Does anyone know how to access the SD card (I am using a 512MB card)? How does the software needs to be copied on the card? [slim] Squeezecenter removal - how?
I got a problem with my Transporter locking up when connected to Squeezecenter. I decided to try a uninstall and reinstall. However ... uninstall dont clean up all settings. Things like the location of the music folder is kept. Any ideas as to how to do a complete cleanup? Anyhow .. Thanks, that enabled me to see the SD card and start the updating process from the sd card However, it still refuses to update, even with the latest software. Is this, as was suggested in another post, likely to be a hardware problem? [slim] Controller browsing Issue
Hi, I am running the Stable 7.0 SC on XP. I been having an issue with my controller. If I try to browse a directory structure within the music folder after the controller has been sitting for a minute or two, more often than not, the controller will freeze. Sometimes it will un-freeze and let me navigate the upper menu, but after it freezes once it will never allow me to enter an artist or album in the music folder again without turning off the controller. It does not appear to be a wifi issue. I have tried it in the same room as my WAP and have tried it in other rooms while wifi SB's have been streaming FLAC. Also I can usually turn off the SB via the controller while this is happening. [slim] Squeeze Controller Wireless Signal is weak
I am having connection problems with my controller. The receiver seems ok but the controller only has 1 or 2 bars of wireless strength. My laptop just a few feet away always has good to excellent strength. Strange... Some albums start showing up. I SqC after you double click them... The controller is slower. Some albums show up under artist but not under albums. Peter, This new script should do what you want... just change the flacBaseFolder variable to point to the your FLAC folder. Alternatively you could just use a file comparison program (such as Beyond Compare) and do a differences of just jpg files in your iTunes Music folder and FLAC folder. Then sync the new jpgs to your FLAC folder. I use Beyond Compare a lot for syncing different files between my iTunes and FLAC directories. Also, as far as testing any changes you want to make to the script... create a playlist in iTunes called Test and then change the bUseTestPlaylist variable in the script to true. I'm experiencing the exact same problem, very slow response on my SB2 and great problems playing music. I re-installed 7.0 and tried with the beta version of 7.01 but that did not help at all. Any suggestions? Interesting is that after first installation, and after solving some network problems by changing channel on my router, it worked fine. But after rearranging my music library to an external USB-drive and updating some settings on the SB it started going slow and now nothing seems to help. Is there a factory reset that could be used? My wireless signal is 50%, not the best but surely it should be sufficient for scrolling through menus. [slim] Pause/Previous/Next buttons not working on controller (7.0.1 r2147) ?
I may be going mad here (it's possible:-), but are the pause, previous and next buttons on the controller broken in 7.0.1 r2147. Pressing pause just mutes the volume and doesnt pause the track. Pressing the previous and next buttons doesnt move to the previous or next track in the playlist. Interesting is that after first installation, and after solving some network problems by changing channel on my router, it worked fine. But after rearranging my music library to an external USB-drive and updating some settings on the SB it started going slow and now nothing seems to help. Make sure you've given your player a name. When re-arranging your disks, you very likely changed the music folder setting. On the same page you should set a player name - if there was none, then this will lead to looong delays on the player interface. This bug is fixed in the upcoming 7.0.1 release. How can I toggle between the different output types? My Transporter seems to be stuck on the Toslink output and I cant find any information about toggling between the balanced/unbalanced/coax/Toslink. The unified Favorites feature is great - just what I've always wanted - but when I add an iTunes playist (that is full and functional in the slimserver) it is empty. In the old GUI there was a way to add an internet stream to the playlists. I can't find it on the new GUI. The station is playing, but there is no + button on the web interface. Pressing the icon seems to just add it again in the right pane, and not in the left one on the playlists. I am running on a Mac, and I think I own the folders. The plugins folder is certainly in my area and owned by me. So is Playlist and Music. They wanted the hardware to be as flexible as possible. There is audio hardware in the controller for the button sounds, so adding a 3.5mm jack would have been fairly trivial. Having the controller as just a controller at the moment is the _official_ stance. This may change at a future point. If you are being cynical, you could surmise that when sales of the Controler start to slow, they could release new firmware with streaming and playback of stored music (there is a SD slot capable of 32GB in there) to boost sales. I had the same experience as Cintra, finding that after I upgaded to Squeezcenter 7.01 and forced a firmware update (by pressing and holding Brightness) my player is still at firmware v. 86. Is firmware v. 88 coming in a future nightly build of Squeezcenter or is the answer more complicated than that? fw86 is in builds of 7.1, not 7.0.1. You can download it here: http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/ Note however, that 7.1 is pre-beta and so could be a complete mess :) This includes the fw86 itself, it hasn't been through full testing yet so isn't supported. fw 86 is the firmware which appears to download with the standard Windows XP version of Slimserver. I certainly have it on my SB3. What I am hoping to be able to do is update the SB3 to fw 88, which according to the bug report has resolved the Time Capsule issue. I am able to connect with/use/and update ok on XP which is connected directly to the Timecapsule. [slim] VU *and* buffer fullness?
I just installed a ReadyNAS NV+, and am running SlimServer on it - version 6.5.4 - 12568. I used to be able to set the display buffer fullness as a checkbox that was separate from the other display choices (time, VU, spectrum), but this no longer seems to be possible. That's really too bad ... am I missing a trick somewhere?
