Maybe the standalone WSGI server of CherryPie already does what you need?

Re: Open Linux Router

Well I'm currently getting started with django in a professional sense. I've
been doing some calendaring and whatnot (seen
http://justinlilly.no-ip.org:8001/todo/ ) I have some sysadmin experience
and whatnot. Any thoughts on what you guys need the most?

Re: Open Linux Router

It would be great to get some aide with the views/models stuff. I am
currently developing the libraries. Your sysadmin skills will come in
handy when developing the modules. Would you like to sign up at the
forum, we will start up the mailing list probably tomorrow.

Yeah its the webserver for olr not the public site. The django server
seems like a good start, just add ssl and logging ect, and lots of
security enhancements

Re: Open Linux Router

2007-07-26 Thread westymatt

We are going to develop its own web server probably based on django
development server with enhancements + security enhancements. It will
be like miniserver.pl in Webmin. A standalone webserver, so that we
don't run into conflicts being hosted on apache and editing its confs
ect. We are looking for someone to aide us or to take it over the
development of the webserver.

Oh, should point out here that I am assuming here that you are talking
about your Django instance running on the Open Linux Router (ie.,
potentially an embedded device) itself, not your public web site. :-)

How are you hosting Django? Do you use Django's own web server, or do
you run it on top of the Apache instance you mention in another post
using something like mod_python?

Just curious.

We are developing a web interface to quagga/xorp, ssh, ftp, rsync,
users/groups, apache, mysql, you know name it and the goal is to
develop a module to configure it and install it if its not there. We
went with a webmin design last time and we are now rewriting it in
django/python. What skills do you have? We have all kinds of things
from forum management/programming/site management/mailing list ect...

Hey.

What sort of things will you need to accomplish with OLR's web interface?
I'm interested, but not sure I have the necessary skills.
