[Dri-devel] Radeon 7500 warning message and Blender issues.

2003-11-15 Thread Shobaki sam.

Hello group,

Here is my first problem, as explained in PR
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=59298:
When trying to render any scene with blender, and
pushing the "render" button, blender core dumps with this
error message:
-assertion "vb.context
== ctx" failed: file "radeon_vtxfmt.c", line 1061Abort trap (core
dumped)-I tried to set RADEON_NO_VTXFMT to 1 but
the problem go somewhere else, blender becomes very unstable and crash too
frequently.

My other problem is about a strange warning message
i got in Xfree86 logs as explained in http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=59297:
when closing any opengl window application with the
escape key, described in this sample code:
--if(key == ESCAPE)
{
glutDestroyWindow(window);
exit(0); }--i got this warning
in /var/log/XFree86.0.log:--(WW) RADEON(0): [dri] RADEONDRITransitionTo2d: kernel failed to unflip
buffers.--But if i
use the system close button, everything is going fine, but is this error is
harmless or not ?

Thanks for any help.

Sam._

Re: [Dri-devel] the state of Parhelia on FreeBSD

2003-11-15 Thread Ryan Underwood

A small note, if you contact Matrox about adding features to the driver
or open sourcing it, the question needs to go to Sales. Support ignores
any inquiries about added features and redirect the questioner to sales
instead. (They contend that their job is to support only what has been
released.) Furthermore, developer relations ignores any questions about
the Parhelia period. :(

while it might be possible to add support for freebsd to the apparently
opensource kernel module, adding support for unsupported cards to the
2D/3D drivers is impossible since it is a binary only driver! Ask
matrox to add support. that's your only option right now.

[Dri-devel] Fedora + DRI R200 binary snapshots - libGL problem

2003-11-15 Thread Sergey V. Oudaltsov
Hi all

I just took the R200 snapshot and trying to run in on Radeon R250 Lf
(Mobility). First, I encountered the problem with ABI version (6 vs 7)
but after taking XFree86 executable from some well-known place
(mentioned in FAQ) XFree finally took off (first question - would it be
possible to include this binary into R200 snapshots - it is necessary
anyway).

Now I am trying to run glxinfo - and it says there is no DRI. What could
this be? I even tried to say explicitly LD_PRELOAD=... (pointing to
libGL.so.1.2 shipped with the snapshot). Still no direct rendering. What
could this be? XFree86.0.log says I _do_ have dri enabled.

(funny enough, the main reason to try DRI snapshots was broken dynamic
access to GL in Fedora's libGL - no way to play Half-Life:).

[Dri-devel] Fedora + DRI R200 binary snapshots - libGL problem

2003-11-15 Thread Sergey V. Oudaltsov
Well, in my previous mail I was citing the wrong XFree86.0.log. The
right one shows that DRI is actually disabled. And dmesg gives me this:

[drm:radeon_cp_init] *ERROR* radeon_cp_init called without lock held
[drm:radeon_unlock] *ERROR* Process 5985 using kernel context 0

Googling around shows that I am not the only one with the problem of
that kind. Is it curable? Is current R200 driver binary snapshot broken?
