I have had this problem B4 with gatos, loading DRI then gatos crashed. Now I have the same problem with Debian's xserver-xfree86.
I can run my r200 in MergedFB mode then xinermia. After finding that nether had ForceMinDotClock I switched to Debian's 2D driver. My system froze like a box of chocolates. After reboting Debian's 2D driver worked fine. This all goes back to needing 'one' device driver, but can be fixed/bypased if all device drivers play nice(DRI dose not/has not). __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
