Re: [Dspace-tech] Debugging XSLT in Manakin
What information are you lacking? Well, I've gotten the messages you mention when I forgot to rename ALL the occurrences of a particular new variable... but this is different, and it's kicking my rear. Sum total of error message: javax.xml.transform.TransformerException: A location path was expected, but the following token was encountered: { And no information as to WHERE it was expecting a location path. I can't find any extraneous {'s anywhere, especially in the bit where I suspect the problem is. Googling about a bit, I suspect the answer can be found somewhere in the stack trace, but the full stack trace isn't returned to the Web, and the bit I need is buried too deep. For what it's worth, what I'm trying to do is move community and collection logos out of the body of the collection and into the h1 containing the community/collection name. It's been surprisingly difficult to accomplish. [Dspace-tech] Authorisation problem wtih collection level admin
I've given a staff member Collection Level authorization. They were not able to add additional bitstreams to a committed record already in the IR. After giving them this level of authorization, they are still not able to add additional bitstreams. I'm running 1.4.1 release and cannot see any problem with this. They receive the screen that informs them to contact the administrator for permission. But they have it. Is there something I am missing here? Re: [Dspace-tech] Authorisation problem wtih collection level admin
Jeff - I've seen this as well. I'm new enough to DSpace/Manakin that I wasn't sure if that was the expected behavior, or if the staff member should indeed be able to add the items. We investigated a little bit, and if I recall correctly, it was only happening with the Manakin inteface. The default DSpace interface did not have this problem. If it's the same issue on your end, maybe we should open a bug report on this so that the issue is tracked and clarified or resolved. Re: [Dspace-tech] Authorisation problem wtih collection level admin
I'm sorry. The problem that I'm thinking of happens when a person with write authorization on a community tries to add a subcommunity or a collection to that community. Just out of curiosity, Jeff, what happens when you give the staff member full authorizations on the specific item and the bundles in the item? There's a bit in the Dspace Overview documentation (http://www.dspace.org/index.php?option=com_contenttask=viewid=149) which says that permissions don't commute: Permissions must be explicit - lack of an explicit permission results in the default policy of 'deny'. Permissions also do not 'commute'; for example, if an e-person has READ permission on an item, they might not necessarily have READ permission on the bundles and bitstreams in that item. I'm wondering if you have to give the staff member full permissions on the items and bundles, as well. Keith Gilbertson wrote: Jeff - I've seen this as well. [Dspace-tech] Eprints to Dspace migration
Hi, Has anybody tried with Eprints to Dspace migration. If Please can u send me the steps you followed to migrate . Currently i followed steps given in this site(http://rubric.edu.au/techreports/tech_report-eprints_to_dspace.htm). But i wasn't able to successfully import , i got some 1000 directories created in my output directories which had dublin_core.xml files in it. I was not able to successfully ingest items. If anybody has successfully migrated , can u please list me the steps you followed. Thanks Pavan - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges. Re: [Dspace-tech] Debugging XSLT in Manakin
Shame you don't get a line number, alright. From the message though it looks like you are accidentally using an attribute value template (i.e. curly braces) in an attribute which expects a location path, e.g. xsl:variable name=foo select={$bar[baz]}/ ... when you meant to type: xsl:variable name=foo select=$bar[baz]/ If I were you I'd look for any select attributes containing curly braces. [Dspace-tech] APSR software
Hi All, With APSR project winding down some proof-of-concept work has been posted on the APSR website for anyone who wants to take a look. This work is in the repository interoperability space. Rather than repeat the web site blurb refer to the follow web pages: Australian METS Profile: http://www.apsr.edu.au/nla-mets/index.htm Repository Submission Service: http://www.apsr.edu.au/submission_service/index.htm Manakin Theme Editor (also comes bundled with Submission Service): http://www.apsr.edu.au/dissemination_service/index.htm Note that if experimenting with the Manakin theme editor I'd suggest pointing it at an image collection, as the conference and journal collections have specific requirements as to how these materials are stored. Some of the code from this will be incorporated in Fez 2.0 and is applicable to any repository which can generate DRI-compliant XML. While we can't commit to further development of the latter two software packages (all was developed under funded project monies), we will be attempting to build on work delivered under APSR in future projects. I'm happy to take any queries off-list regarding these packages and further development of them. Scott. - This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges. It sounds promising that you are able to create the directories and files to ingest, hopefully there is something wrong with the DSpace import command you are using that we can help you with. 1) What command are you running to import the items? 2) What error message is DSpace giving you?
