 # SMTP mail server authentication username and password (if required)
  mail.server.username = har...@webinito.com
  mail.server.password = your password

 # SMTP mail server alternate port (defaults to 25)
  mail.server.port = 587 ---Relative to smtp server

 # From address for mail

 # General site administration (Webmaster) e-mail
   mail.admin = har...@webinito.com

 # Recipient for server errors and alerts

 # Set the default mail character set. This may be over ridden by providing

   mail.charset = UTF8

 Make this change in [dspace-src]/dspace/config/dspace.cfg , then recompile
 package with mvn.
 then from [dspace-src]\dspace\target\dspace-1.5.2-build.dir directory

 ant -Dconfig=/installdir/config/dspace.cfg update

 Restart tomcat server and check.

[Dspace-tech] dspace search error

2009-11-24 Thread Troiani Stefano
Hi all,

I am new to dspace and this is my first post to this community.
I am running a 1.5.2 installation with all items in spanish languages,
and my problem is the search, I get results only if I search for title
and date, no lists if I search for author or subject.
The first installation was 1.5.1 and I was told that there were a
problem with spanish characters in that version, so I upgrade to 1.5.2,
but the problem is still the same.
Right after the upgrade I ran index-init, hoping it would fix the issue,
but it broke the whole entriesit was as if the tables on database
were missing, and this was exactly the message saw after running the
command: the table or view doesn't exist
I managed to restore the items manually assigning the handler to each
one. (don't know if this is the right procedure...) but I would like to
know how to solve the search problem, and, if anyone has an hint about
what happened when i ran index-init.

thanks to all,

stefano

Sorry; this was my hack originally and I should have picked up on this
problem sooner.

You don't actually want to edit the main sitemap.xmap file; you want
the sitemap.xmap file inside your theme folder. I've fixed the entry
on the wiki. (I think there was a change in the sitemap.xmap setup
somewhere 'round about 1.5; I originally based the hack on 1.4 +

[Dspace-tech] Authorization Error/Question - How to add ADD authorization for Bundle to DSpace 1.5.1?

2009-11-24 Thread Thornton, Susan M. (LARC-B702)[RAYTHEON TECHNICAL SERVICES COMPANY]
A User reported a problem she was having in our Production DSpace instance this
morning as follows:

There was an already-existing Item with 1 bundle/bitstream (.pdf
file) in a Collection. She was trying to add another bitstream (.pdf file) to
the Item and received this error:

authorize_error:org.dspace.authorize.AuthorizeException: Authorization denied
for action ADD on BUNDLE:618242 by user 34

 This doesn't make sense to me because I have thoroughly explored the
authorization screens in the online app. this morning and can't find anywhere
that I could grant ADD access at the BUNDLE level.

I'm trying to figure out exactly what this User is missing. She is a member of
a group that has the following access to this collection:

We have also been having this problem for quite awhile now and I have so far
been unable to track it down. There can sometimes be an up to 7 minute delay.
I think it may be related to authorization checking (resourcepolicies
table)...??? But I'm not sure.

Attached is a portion of a dspace.log from today that traces the ingest of an
Item online thru the workflow process. There are no approvals required along
the way. Once the User clicks I grant the license, the system hangs for
several minutes before completing successfully. It is somewhere in the
update_item process. Note the gap of time between 08:14:11,594 and
08:19:25,567 is OVER 5 MINUTES! What in the world is causing this???

2009-11-24 Thread Claudia Jürgen

Hello Mallikarjun,

you can do this dirctly on the database. Make sure you got everything
backed up.

The command is:

update community2collection set community_id=NewCommunityID where
community_id=OldCommunityID and collection_id=CollectionID;

Then you got to re-index.

Hope that helps
