Tim,

you are right, i miss that, thanks! below further details:

 Kocisky,

Actually those logs are helpful.  It shows me that for some reason your
install process is not able to load data into your 'bitstreamformatregistry'
 table.

Can you check to make sure this table is created properly in your DB?

It should be created with the following columns:

 bitstream_format_id integer NOT NULL,
 mimetype character varying(256),
 short_description character varying(128),
 description text,
 support_level integer,
 internal boolean

yes the table is in the db as you reported

You also may want to look at your PostgreSQL log files, to see if it has
 reported any errors.

the postgresql-8.3-main.log report these errors:

Re: [Dspace-tech] About indexing

2011-01-13 Thread Claudia Juergen
Hello Sergio,

this is usually not needed, unless you change indexable metadata on db
level for some reason or other.

There are actions like running filter-media, which will unless otherwise
specified, rebuild the indices. Filter-media is usually run as a nightly
cron job.

Hope that helps

Claudia Jürgen

 Hi,

I am using dspace 1.5.1 and I've read that some admins make cron jobs
 reindex tables. Is that needed?

 Thanks in advance!

[Dspace-tech] Catalina (Tomcat) failure upon upgrade to 1.6.2

2011-01-13 Thread Jeffrey Trimble
I've just upgraded a server from 1.5.2 to 1.6.2. Looks fine, no database
errors reported, all maven and ant compilations looked good.
Index-init worked without seeing errors. Any suggestions or fixes?

After starting Tomcat up (v. 5.5), and attempting to access the webpage, has
errors. Here's what the DSpace log file is showing. I've never
seen this before: Other important data:

Java 1.6
Tomcat 5.5
mvn 2.0.9
ant 1.7.1
