Hello Sergio, this is usually not needed, unless you change indexable metadata on db level for some reason or other. There are actions like running filter-media, which will unless otherwise specified, rebuild the indices. Filter-media is usually run as a nightly cron job. [Dspace-tech] Catalina (Tomcat) failure upon upgrade to 1.6.2
I've just upgraded a server from 1.5.2 to 1.6.2. Looks fine, no database errors reported, all maven and ant compilations looked good. Index-init worked without seeing errors.
