[Dspace-tech] Notification emails are not sent

2011-08-05 Thread Amir Pourabdollah
Hi Team,

I am trying to make the notification emails working but seems not successful.
All other emailing functionalities in the systems works fine. My users have
subscribed to the collections and still do not receive the notification when a
new item is submitted. In Config file, I tried changing the value of
eperson.subscription.onlynew . I use xmlui/Mirage. What else do you think I may
have missed?

Thanks,
Amir.

Re: [Dspace-tech] Notification emails are not sent

2011-08-05 Thread Claudia Jürgen
Hello,

have you got sub-daily running as a cron job?
Notifications for subscriptons are not automatically sent when an item
reaches the in_archive state. A digest is send when command
[dspace]/bin/dspace sub-daily is launched. This is usually done as a
nightly cron job, sie Chapter 4.4.1. 'cron' Jobs of the documentation
http://www.dspace.org/1_7_1Documentation/DSpace-Manual.pdf

Hope that helps

Hi All,

In Dspace 1.7.x ‘s community or collection home page statistics show over a

But is it possible to have a statistics before 7 months at community or
collection homepage.

Thanks

Re: [Dspace-tech] Problem running index-init in Upgrade from DSpace 1.5.1 to 1.7.1

 Hi,

I’m getting the following errors while trying to run index-init for the
first time during an upgrade from DSpace 1.5.1 to 1.7.1. We are running on a
Solaris 10 platform and I’ve tried changing the permissions on both the /bin
and /log directories to 777, which doesn’t make a difference. I noticed that
lots of other folks seem to have the same problem trying to run things (not
just index-init - sometimes some of the statistics scripts), but haven’t
really found a solution to this. We are implementing the JSPUI version, by
 the way.

 $ ./dspace index-init

 log4j:ERROR setFile(null,true) call failed.

 java.io.FileNotFoundException: /dspace.log.2011-08-05 (Permission denied)

It's trying to create that file at the root of the filesystem, not
/bin or /log.

 java.io.FileNotFoundException: /cocoon.log.2011-08-05 (Permission denied)
 ^^
Here's another one. There are more.

log4j configuration problem?

[Dspace-tech] Need Some Help

2011-08-05 Thread Eric Condic

We are trying to test the upgrading from 1.4.2 to 1.5 using the documentation
 found here: http://www.dspace.org/1_7_1Documentation/DSpace-Manual.pdf

We are using the section called 'Upgrading from 1.4.2 to 1.5' to make the
changes needed for this upgrade to be completed. When we complete the final
steps of the upgrade and start up tomcat, Dspace instance looks good at first
(the first two clicks are good) but when trying to drill down the site, this
error pops up for certain handles:

trouble this further and how to trace Dspace handles within the database so I
can verify if the SQL update I did on step 11 of the upgrade process might
 have removed it or what.

 Thanks!
