[Dspace-tech] Notification emails are not sent
Hi Team, I am trying to make the notification emails working but seems not successful. All other emailing functionalities in the systems works fine. My users have subscribed to the collections and still do not receive the notification when a new item is submitted. In Config file, I tried changing the value of eperson.subscription.onlynew . I use xmlui/Mirage. What else do you think I may have missed? Thanks, Amir. This message and any attachment are intended solely for the addressee and may contain confidential information. Re: [Dspace-tech] Notification emails are not sent
Hello, have you got sub-daily running as a cron job? Notifications for subscriptons are not automatically sent when an item reaches the in_archive state. A digest is send when command [dspace]/bin/dspace sub-daily is launched. This is usually done as a nightly cron job, sie Chapter 4.4.1. 'cron' Jobs of the documentation http://www.dspace.org/1_7_1Documentation/DSpace-Manual.pdf Hope that helps Claudia Jürgen Am 05.08.2011 13:29, schrieb Amir Pourabdollah: Hi Team, I am trying to make the notification emails working but seems not successful. Re: [Dspace-tech] Problem running index-init in Upgrade from DSpace 1.5.1 to 1.7.1

[Dspace-tech] Need Some Help
We are trying to test the upgrading from 1.4.2 to 1.5 using the documentation found here: http://www.dspace.org/1_7_1Documentation/DSpace-Manual.pdf We are using the section called 'Upgrading from 1.4.2 to 1.5' to make the changes needed for this upgrade to be completed. When we complete the final steps of the upgrade and start up tomcat, Dspace instance looks good at first (the first two clicks are good) but when trying to drill down the site, this error pops up for certain handles: -- URL Was: http://localhost:8080/dspace/handle/10323/205 -- Method: GET -- Parameters were: Exception: java.lang.NullPointerException at org.dspace.app.webui.servlet.HandleServlet.displayItem(HandleServlet.java:331) at org.dspace.app.webui.servlet.HandleServlet.doDSGet(HandleServlet.java:180) at org.dspace.app.webui.servlet.DSpaceServlet.processRequest(DSpaceServlet.java:151) at org.dspace.app.webui.servlet.DSpaceServlet.doGet(DSpaceServlet.java:99) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:690) at javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:803) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.internalDoFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:269) at org.apache.catalina.core.ApplicationFilterChain.doFilter(ApplicationFilterChain.java:188) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardWrapperValve.invoke(StandardWrapperValve.java:213) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContextValve.invoke(StandardContextValve.java:174) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardHostValve.invoke(StandardHostValve.java:127) at org.apache.catalina.valves.ErrorReportValve.invoke(ErrorReportValve.java:117) at org.apache.catalina.valves.AccessLogValve.invoke(AccessLogValve.java:544) at org.apache.catalina.core.StandardEngineValve.invoke(StandardEngineValve.java:108) at org.apache.catalina.connector.CoyoteAdapter.service(CoyoteAdapter.java:151) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11Processor.process(Http11Processor.java:874) at org.apache.coyote.http11.Http11BaseProtocol$Http11ConnectionHandler.processConnection(Http11BaseProtocol.java:665) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.PoolTcpEndpoint.processSocket(PoolTcpEndpoint.java:528) at org.apache.tomcat.util.net.LeaderFollowerWorkerThread.runIt(LeaderFollowerWorkerThread.java:81) at org.apache.tomcat.util.threads.ThreadPool$ControlRunnable.run(ThreadPool.java:689) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:662) I know what 'java.lang.NullPointerException' means but any advise on how to trouble this further and how to trace Dspace handles within the database so I can verify if the SQL update I did on step 11 of the upgrade process might have removed it or what.
