helix84, You know, if I make a change to the xslt, I see the change immediately, no clearing of any kind of cache, but in the case I described above where the DRI changes because of a metadata change, clearing the cocoon cache as described in the link you provided, works - I get the new htlm page. [Dspace-tech] Adding custom code to a DSpace Build
I have a question about the best practice to use for building DSpace with custom code. I do not have much experience with Maven. I am working with a DSpace 1.7.2 installation. I am building the system from the release distribution (not the source distribution) using Maven and Ant. To date, all of the customizations that I have made have been made to configuration files and theme files. I have coded a custom media filter (Java class) that I would like to incorporate this into my build. I also have an additional jar file that I would also like to include into my build. What is the best approach to incorporating each of these items into my Maven build? I appreciate any advice that you can offer. Terry -- Everyone hates slow websites. So do we. [Dspace-tech] Reg: Authorization Policy Customization
Hello All, Dspace has a defined a set of Authorization policies , to give users particular rights like: Read/Write/Delete an item, Read/Add/Remove a collection/community, Workflow access rights etc... However, I want to add few more policies. One of which is: 1. A user group should have access to only: Import Metadata. ( and anonymous read access by default) Right now, Import Metadata can only be done as an Administrator, under Administrator options. I have tried, looking for that particular core java class file, where the users policies are accessed by the system. I wish to know, how does dspace, deal with authorization policies. i.e how does it decide on particular read/add/delete rights to a user, and where in the workflow does that happen. So that i could do the same, for the system to add above policy for a particular user group. May i know, if anyone has an idea about how to go through this. I would be grateful to hear from you. Copy this template over to your custom theme, replacing this one line: https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/master/dspace-xmlui/src/main/webapp/themes/Mirage/lib/xsl/aspect/artifactbrowser/item-view.xsl#L407 with: xsl:choose xsl:when test=current()/@MIMETYPE = 'application/pdf' img alt=Icon src={concat($theme-path, '/images/your_pdf_icon.png')} style=height: {$thumbnail.maxheight}px;/ /xsl:when xsl:when test=current()/@MIMETYPE = 'image/jpeg' img alt=Icon src={concat($theme-path, '/images/your_jpg_icon.png')} style=height: {$thumbnail.maxheight}px;/ /xsl:when xsl:otherwise img alt=Icon src={concat($theme-path, '/images/mime.png')} style=height: {$thumbnail.maxheight}px;/ /xsl:otherwise /xsl:choose Fill in your images and add more mimetypes - you get the idea.
