[Dspace-tech] Can't run ant update after merging from upstream master

2014-09-19 Thread euler
Dear all,

After merging my local master branch from upstream dspace master, I can't
run ant update successfully. I can't find the previous directory
dspace-installer where I'm supposed to run ant update. Is there some
setting/configuration that I have to pass when doing mvn package?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Joseph

The author seems to have the right data, discovery indexed it well, it is
the second author in the left facet.

try runing /dspace/bin/dspace index-update -f to force reindexing whith
the tomcat stopped.

 Hello,
I have been trying to get an author's name to appear in the author browse
 (http://researchrepository.ucd.ie/search-filter?field=author) but can't
 seem
to get it to work. The name is Ó Gráda, Cormac. There are plenty of other
 Ó
...'s in there (e.g. Ó hÉigeartaigh) that do appear for a search on 'Ó',
 but
for whatever reason, Ó Gráda does not appear.

(Prof Ó Gráda is quite prolific on Famine, Irish emigration, economic
history. We have 200+ of papers by him.
 http://researchrepository.ucd.ie/browse?type=authorvalue=%C3%93%20Gr%C3%A1d
 a,%20Cormac)

(I believe) I've ensured that the diacritics are UTF-8 (Ó and á) (they
 weren't originally)
 I've re-indexed (~/dspace/bin/dspace index-update)
 DSpace 1.8.2

Ó Gráda does come up any way you spell it in
http://researchrepository.ucd.ie/browse (browsing by author). Not entirely
sure how I navigated to that though...

 Any pointers?

We are using DSpace 3.1 JSPUI.

Admin UI display stats in all tables for the months between 09/2013 and
05/2014. However, for the months before 09/2013 and after 05/2014, most of
tables in admin ui are empty without any stats. See attached. Any clue on
how to get the stats populated?

Thanks,

Re: [Dspace-tech] Can't run ant update after merging from upstream master

2014-09-19 Thread Tim Donohue
Elvi,

All you should need to do is rebuild DSpace:

mvn clean package

This recreates the [src]/dspace/target/dspace-installer/ directory.

After that, just run ant update from that folder.

Re: [Dspace-tech] trying to find pdf file from upload.

2014-09-19 Thread Peter Dietz
Hi Jose,

Perhaps a similar idea is the citation cover-page project I had worked on
at OSU https://github.com/osulibraries/DSpace/wiki/Citation-Cover-Page.
We don't modify the original PDF at all, upon download/dissemination, it
generates a pdf that adds that extra page and serves it. Due to licensing,
we'll need to look at java libraries to help accomplish this. The
implementation used iTextPDF, which is AGPL (incompatible with DSpace), so
the search continues. I'm leaning towards Apache PDFBox.

You probably don't NEED to store the CC license info into the PDF itself.
i.e. What happens if someone edits the Item, and chooses another license in
the future, split apart the pdf and change the last page? No thanks. Just
display the PDF to the user with all the info you need. Plus, you already
have all the info you need at that point (once its in archive).

I am looking for the code that actually puts the pdf file in the asset

append the cc license yet because the user has not chosen it at this

Try running:

./dspace create-administrator

It's possible that the ../dspace/bin/ directory is just not in your
PATH, so it may not be seeing the dspace script in that directory.

Re: [Dspace-tech] embargo bug? second attempt

2014-09-19 Thread Tim Donohue
Hi Bill,

This sounds like a bug to me, but I haven't had a chance to dig into it
further.

I'd recommend going ahead and creating a new ticket to describe the
problem in our issue tracker:

https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS/

Once we have it tracked in the issue tracker, hopefully we can find a
volunteer to investigate/verify.

 All,
I encountered this issue in DSpace 4.1, and it's still hanging around
in 4.2. Still haven't seen any comments from this note I posted in
 April:

 All,

In DSpace 4.1 xmlui, in a collection WITHOUT the embargo steps
enabled, I am able to upload a file as usual -- the only input field
being the description. But during the review step, when editing the
just-uploaded file, the embargo options appear on the form. Entering
data in either of these fields does nothing, but they should not be
 there in any case, right?

A quick search of jira did not find a similar report. Is this a bug,
or a mis-configuration of some kind? I do have another collection in
which both embargo steps are enabled...

 Comments?

Perhaps a similar idea is the citation cover-page project I had worked on at
OSU. We don't modify the original PDF at all, upon download/dissemination,

licensing, we'll need to look at java libraries to help accomplish this. The
implementation used iTextPDF, which is AGPL (incompatible with DSpace), so
the search continues.

Re: [Dspace-tech] trying to find pdf file from upload.

2014-09-19 Thread Peter Dietz
Jose,

That feature hasn't been contributed, and is currently only in OSU's
codebase (1.8.x currently):

That config file:
https://github.com/osulibraries/DSpace/blob/osukb/dspace/config/modules/disseminate-citation.cfg

The main class that generates the PDF is:
https://github.com/osulibraries/DSpace/blob/osukb/dspace-api/src/main/java/org/dspace/disseminate/CitationDocument.java

And it's wired in to xmlui bitstream downloads at:
https://github.com/osulibraries/DSpace/blob/osukb/dspace-xmlui/dspace-xmlui-api/src/main/java/org/dspace/app/xmlui/cocoon/BitstreamReader.java

Andrea Schweer had another citation PDF solution, using curation task.
