Subject: Re: [Dspace-tech] Dublin Core to MARC crosswalk and dc.creator field

Hi Diwakar,

assuming you're using DSpace 3 or 4 (since those have the XMLMARC output
format), you can change the mapping in this XSLT file:

https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v1/url?u=https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/blob/dspace-3_x/dspace/config/crosswalks/oai/metadataFormats/marc.xsl%23L30k=t8cWouLHMWKnKZhAFQUeVA%3D%3D%0Ar=%2BaVeCzrb3rShDVSB5L8Xxw%3D%3D%0Am=%2FaT%2B9dKhVCBzRdbpg4hLFBlIXNhCq6qnqKXM%2BFTikaY%3D%0As=e84fcb8f6f8ca87b7931062858a19e5d16a5ebadb4b1861f7416fde89bfad374

As you can see, here it maps dc.contributor.author to the MARC21 720 field. You
can add any additional mappings you need. For any changes to the xsl file to
take effect, don't forget to run:

[dspace]/bin/dspace oai clean-cache

[Dspace-tech] Dublin Core to MARC crosswalk and dc.creator field

2014-01-10 Thread Diwakar Timilsina
Hi,

We have a few items that we would like to export the metadata from DSpace and
import into another cataloguing system. We would like to convert the metadata
to MARC format. We are trying to use the OAI harvester to export using MARC but
it looks like dc.creator field is not being captured in the MARC format. Any
idea how we can include dc.creator field in the MARC export? What files will I
need to modify? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

Re: [Dspace-tech] (no subject)

2013-12-17 Thread Diwakar Timilsina
Yes, I tried setting both webui.strengths.show and webui.strengths.cache to
false. I also cleared cocoon cache again and ran index-update. I then restarted
DSpace but I still get the count next to author names and subjects. However,
the count does not appear next to Collections and Communities. It's really
strange. Isn't the strength option supposed to only display count for
collections and communities? Why is showing for Authors and Subjects?

Again, thanks for your response.

Re: [Dspace-tech] (no subject)

2013-12-17 Thread Diwakar Timilsina
Actually, I think there is a bug where the subject/author count always shows
total count instead of just within the collection/community. That's why I had
to disable the strengths feature in the first place.

https://jira.duraspace.org/browse/DS-1597

There is a fix given for the bug which I tried out and it's giving the correct
count.

But this is a new bug as the count appears for authors/subjects even after
disabling strengths.

Thanks.

[Dspace-tech] Dspace 3.2 disable discovery for the site

2013-10-21 Thread Diwakar Timilsina
Hi,

I just upgraded to DSpace 3.2. I would like to enable Discovery only for
certain collections and not site-wide. It looks like I have to edit
config/spring/api/discovery.xml. Is there a way to disable for the main site
without having to create a new DiscoveryConfiguration just to disable it? If
not, how do I create a new DiscoveryConfiguration to disable Discovery on the
main site?

Any help is appreciated.

[Dspace-tech] SOLR query result preserve case

2012-11-05 Thread Diwakar Timilsina
Hi,
I am trying to extract metadata for items returned by a SOLR
query. However, I am noticing that text is being returned from the index in
lower-case. For example, the dc.description.abstract field has been all
converted to lower case. I need SOLR to preserve case sensitivity when it
returns the fields and their values for a given query. How can I configure
SOLR/DSpace to achieve that?

Any help is appreciated.

[Dspace-tech] Import metadata: no changes were detected

2012-01-20 Thread Diwakar Timilsina
Hi everyone,
I am trying to update the dc.subject metadata field for some records in DSpace

following:

id,dc.subject
158,Chemical engineering
168,Mechanical engineering

However, when I try to import it, I get No changes were detected message. I
have verified that existing dc.subject values are indeed different from the
values I am trying to import. Has anyone seen this issue?

[Dspace-tech] remove metadata elements from SWORD deposited item

2011-07-29 Thread Diwakar Timilsina
Hi all,
I wanted to find out if there is a way to remove a metadata
element from the SWORD deposit?

I have the following scenario:

An item from a source DSpace instance is getting SWORD deposited into another
target DSpace instance. So, when the item is deposited into the target DSpace
repo, I see two different Handle URI in dc.identifier.uri, one from the source
DSpace and the other from the target DSpace. I would like to remove the Handle
assigned by the source DSpace and just keep the one assigned by the target. Has
anyone run into this issue? If so, any workarounds to this issue?

Thanks.

[Dspace-tech] SWORD deposit issue

2011-07-13 Thread Diwakar Timilsina
I am trying to do a SWORD deposit from one DSpace instance to another. However,
I am getting two different Handle URI after the SWORD deposit.

Is there any way to have just one Handle URI? Preferably the handle URL issued
by the target DSpace instance. I could not find any setting at all in
dspace.cfg for this.

The source DSpace instance is an ETD application called Vireo, developed by the
Texas Digital Library. It's built on top of DSpace (ver 1.5.x) and it only
supports SWORD protocol to deposit into target DSpace instance. It does not
support harvesting.

Any feedback would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.
