[Dspace-tech] Modifying oai_dc.xsl
Hi all! Here's the situation: I need to harvest (just one time) some collections from another DSpace. The items on this repository are poorly described, they don't even have dc.type. But they use Dublin Core in some way. So I thought I could hardcode the dc.type (they all are Thesis) in the /metadataFormats/oai_dc.xsl. Is this the best way to do it or should I create a XSLT Driven Plugin? Do I have to recompile after modifying the stylesheet? [Dspace-tech] Problems with Choice Presentation Style
Hi guys, I've just read the documentation about Authority Control of Metadata Values and began to experiment with the plugins. I've succesfully tried the Sample plugin at the dc.title.alternative field (input type twobox) with Lookup [image: Imágenes integradas 1] and Select [image: Imágenes integradas 2] but I haven't been able to see the Suggest presentation working. Could it be something with Ajax? [Dspace-tech] Trouble with Roles and Permissions
Hi all! I'm having some difficulties with roles and permissions in general, most commonly with workflow steps at specific collections. But before getting those resolved, this is my principal problem: I had a user registered as administrator, so this user could see all the queues of submissions. Then I removed him from the administrator group, in fact he doesn't belong to any group now, so technically at My DSpace page he should see only his archived items or unfinished submissions... BUT... he is still seeing all the queues and submissions he saw as an administrator. How can I force an update of the permissions, roles, or My DSpace page so they correspond to the last changes made. Already stopped/started tomcat, reboot the server, change from xmlui to jspui, nothing worked (I'm using DSpace 4.2, xmlui interface, Apache Tomcat 7.0.35, ubuntu server). Thanks for your help. [Dspace-tech] Custom Submission User Interface
Hi folks! A little question. Is it possible to have a metadata entry for dc.type in page one, and another metadata entry for dc.type in page 2? This is the behavior I would like to have: The user starts a submission and selects Thesis as the item type. In the input-forms.xml file it corresponds to form name=traditional page number=1 ... field dc-schemadc/dc-schema dc-elementtype/dc-element labelType/label ... /field ... /page At the second page the user can specify the type of thesis, as for Master's degree or PhD. page number=2 ... field dc-schemadc/dc-schema dc-elementtype/dc-element labelSub-type/label ... /field ... /page I tried but the second one replaces the first one. [Dspace-tech] How to display the full title of queued items
Hi folks, my boss told me he wants DSpace to display the full title for the: unfinished items, archived items, and items in workflow. I thought I would achieve it changing the Submission.java file, commenting the ifs where the length of the displayTitle is checked. //if (displayTitle.length() 50) // displayTitle = displayTitle.substring(0,50)+ ...; I packaged and updated the code but it didn't work, still displays the ... . [Dspace-tech] Problems adding static page

I'm adding static content to my dspace, so I'm modifying the file at

I'v had added the title and the breadcrumb without problems, and test
adding the HTML for the body at

[Dspace-tech] DSpace 3.1 - Adding Static Pages
Hi all! I'm trying to add some static pages to my Dspace installation. I'm following this tutorial: https://wiki.duraspace.org/display/DSPACE/Manakin+theme+tutorial#Manakinthemetutorial-Addingstaticpages I'm trying the Cocoon-based method but I'm stuck at the part where I have to edit [dspace-src]/dspace-xmlui/dspace-xmlui-webapp/src/main/webapp/themes/Mirage/Mirage.xsl First I found one of the Mirage.xsl files (there are like seven) at dspace-3.1-src-release/dspace/modules/xmlui/target/war/work/org.dspace/dspace-xmlui/themes/Mirage/Mirage.xsl. I guess it is the one to modify. The tutorial says we override the dri:body. How do I do this? Should I just copy/paste the code inside the xsl:stylesheet tags? Or after them? And more important, what does the [ e t c . . . ] means in the example, is there more code that I should insert there? [Dspace-tech] Empty index
Hi again friends, I have this problem, just update DSpace from 1.7.2 to 1.8.1, all seems to work fine but when I tried to browse by title it shows the right screen and says showing items 1 - 20 of 237 but the list is empty. I've already checked the assetstore folder and executed dspace index-init, but still empty. Any ideas? Hi guys, I have installed Dspace 1.7.2 and recently begun to change some texts on pages and lists. Theese are some of the problems I can't solve right now, I've searched information but nothing helped. 1. My home-page's (also called news page) title says Community List. How can I change this? [Dspace-tech] Changing DSpace look
Hi friends. I would like to know, how to make changes to DSpace appearence. I'm kinda lost searching the files, some manuals say they are at /dspace-source/jsp/local. I am using the manakin interface and the 1.7.2 version of DSpace. For example: if I want to change the looks of the home page, which file should I modifiy? [Dspace-tech] Upgrading de Database
Hi all! I have two differents installations of Dspace. One is a totally functional 1.5.2 and the other one is a fresh install, in a totally new server, of the latest release 1.7.2. I tried to restore the data base from the older version to the new one but, it failed 'cause there is a sequence (dctyperegistry_seq) which is now deprecated. My question is: can I upgrade de 1.5.2 database using the script database_schema_15-16.sql and still run the 1.5.2 version (or backup the latest state of the database and then restore it) or I must upgrade all the now totally functional 1.5.2 to 1.6.0 and then to 1.7.2? [Dspace-tech] Problem upgrading from 1.5.2 to 1.7.2
Hi! I've installed the lastest release of Dspace in a new server, because the current installation of DSpace we have (1.5.2 version) is very unstable. I made the backup of the database (PotgreSQL) but when I tried to restore it in our new installation, I get an error from the dctyperegistry_seq sequence. I have found a lot of sites talking about some scripts and patches (update-sequences), but my final question is: Can I just do a: DROP SEQUENCE dctyperegistry in the database of our old version, and then do the backup? If so, would the old version of DSpace continue working normally without that sequence? Thanks a lot.
