Have you tried this with Manakin? I experienced similar performance
problems (ie: taking ~1 min to browse to a Collection with ~20 items)
specifically with browsing under Manakin. The JSPUI performance was
fine.

[Dspace-tech] Browse access very slow

2007-10-23 Thread Rafael Henkin
Hi

Sorry if it's been asked many times, but I've searched the archives and
the only possible solution to our problem didn't work at all.
We have DSpace (modified 1.5 alpha 1) running with Manakin and we're
getting serious performance issues accessing the Browse by pages. I tried
removing the distinct from the SQL in the Browse.java, but there was no
improvement at all. We have about 10,000 items (of course, with larger amount
of subejcts) and comparing to other DSpace-based websites it's like a Super
Aguri chasing a Ferrari :) When accessing these lists for the first time it
takes from 30secs to 1min - if I continue browsing the website without leaving
it, every other access to the list happens without any problem.
Any suggestions?

Thanks all.

Rafael
