Please reply to Rich directly --- Forwarded message follows --- Date sent: Thu, 26 May 2005 16:52:59 -0400 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (NJDXA Discussion List) From: Richard Moseson [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject:[NJDXA-L] HZ2AMS, W2GHK and Hammarlund DXpedition of the Month (1964) Hi all -- For a follow-up to the June CQ article on banned and deleted countries (Geopolitics and Amateur Radio, by W4YO), we're trying to dig up additional information on an April, 1964 operation from the Saudi-Iraqi Neutral Zone (8Z4) and Saudi-Kuwaiti Neutral Zone (8Z5) by Angus Murray-Stone, HZ2AMS. From what I've been able to find out so far, this was a Hammarlund DXpedition of the Month and Stu, W2GHK, was its QSL manager. It was approved for DXCC credit, but apparently the only records that old at ARRL HQ are for rejected applications! Does anyone remember anything about this operation [I'm not in the office today so I don't have access to our own back issues] and/or does anyone know how to get in contact with Stu's daughter, Susannah, who apparently now has his call, on the off chance that she may have some of his records? Many thanks and 73, Rich W2VU Editor, CQ --- End of forwarded message --- -- Archives http://www.mail-archive.com/dx-news@njdxa.org THE DXR is sponsored by the North Jersey DX Association.
