Re: [DX-NEWS] KP5 QRT Saturday a.m.
Kurt... you're not foolish to have spent 3 hours trying for a KP5 QSO. Many DXers have spent days, even weeks chasing an elusive rare one. It was much more difficult before the DX spotting networks evolved to let you know when they are on and where to look, but the best tool is still to listen, listen, and then listen some more. It's a game that requires dedication, patience, and tenacity. Don't give up... those attributes can be learned if you spend the time practicing them. Remember, somebody is working the DX...you can hear them 8^)... the trick is to be smart and patient enough to make it YOU he comes back to. I recommend the excellent book The Complete DXer by Bob Locher W9KNI... best book on DXing techniques I've ever read. It will definitely help you if you follow Bob's advice. Future reference why not give some indication, from time to time, where you are listing. I spend 3 hours, call me foolish... and I still don't know if I'm in the log for 30m. I thought I heard him reply to me...
