[Dx4win] Consolas font
Today I discovered the Consolas font. It seems to be built into Windows XP and has the slashed-zero. I had previously been using Courier New, 9-point, bold and the Consolas font at 10 point, non-bold is just about a perfect match for size -- I did not have to re-size my spots or packet windows. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.us

Two things: - I used this font for the Listbox only (I still prefer the Arial font for the other choices) - to change a font, double-click on the font NAME in the SCREEN preferences, then you will get the selection box. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.us

[Dx4win] Consolas font
Hi Jim, I couldn't find that font on my system, but a quick search turned up this page on the Microsoft web site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=22e69ae4-7e40-4807-8a86-b3d36fab68d3displaylang=en You can download the font from there, and it looks like this might be designed specifically for Visual Studio 2005, so that might explain why those of us who don't have VS don't have it on their systems. Anyway, I downloaded it, installed it, and set it up as you suggested, and I agree that it looks like it's a perfect match. Thanks! [Dx4win] 7.03 label font selection broken? Or wrong font type?
I selected Consolas as my label font (Files - Prefs - Rep/lab), but my labels are still being printed with what looks like an Arial font. The label font had previously been set to Courier New, but my labels looked like Arial even then. Did I do something wrong? 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.us From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun May 13 12:18:31 2007 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Jim Reisert AD1C) Date: Sun May 13 12:27:08 2007 Subject: [Dx4win] 7.03 label font selection broken? YOU WROTE: Neil, the rig file V8-i in the latest version of DX4WIN, V7.03 seems to work very well. It appears to correct the faults that many of us have found and lived with. It sets the correct modes now in both vfo's, sets splits and enables the VFO-B to xmit and picks up the vfo- B xmit frequency and sents it to the packetcluster when you send a spot out. I have tried it with both V7.03 and V7.02 versions of DX4Win. PLEASE DO THIS LITTLE TEST BELOW Dx4win 7.03.16 rig file V8-i Would you please try this so I won't think I am nuts. To be honest I HOPE I AM nuts. Click QSO add real time enter a call TE1ST use A=14080 qsx B=14090 and mode RTTY press split button TX on VFO B Now in DX4WIN do a ANN DX or a ALT+A Look at the FREQand QSX FREQ ARE THEY REVERSED?? My ANN DX will reverse the A and B VFO freqs. VFO A on radio is 14080 but the ANN DX window showes FREQ 14090 and the QSX freq should be VFO B on radio as 14090 but the QSX freq showes in the ANN DX window 14080. This NEW rig file is a HUGE/big improvement on setting MODES from the SPOT window. SPLIT, SETS, MODE, ETC ALL LOOK GOOD NOW. I believe they are aware of the issue I just asked you to test. -- de KR4DA Bob Middleburg, FL HK0/KR4DA J79DA FG/KR4DA

[Dx4win] IC-7000 rig interface
Leo, I use an IC7000 with DX4WIN. Some hints on proper operation: 1. Be sure to match the address of the radio and DX4WIN. 2. Use data rate of 19200. 3. I use the RigTalk interface, so DTR High and RTS High are NOT checked. 73, John K9EL -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of IZ5FSA Sent: April 12, 2007 10:08 AM To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] IC-7000 rig interface Anyone have tried dx4win rig control with a IC-7000 yet? 73s de Leo, IZ5FSA \\|// (- o) -oooO-(_)-Oooo-- IZ5FSA @ IZ5FSA.ITOS.IT.EU [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.ariscandicci.it mdxc#201 -oooO-Oooo-- ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
[Dx4win] frequency reading from radio problem
Jay, I have had the exact same problem with my IC7000 when operating portable. I also use a rigtalk interface. Two things seem to have fixed the problem. First I removed a bit of shield from the cable between the Rigtalk and the radio exposing the shield and used a jumper to ground it to the antenna tuner. It seemed like RF was getting into the RigTalk device. Secondly I increased the data rate between the Radio and DX4WIN to 19200. 73, John K9EL -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Jay Hainline Sent: May 11, 2007 8:08 AM To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: [Dx4win] frequency reading from radio problem I have a small problem I would like help on. I am using DX4WIN 7.03.16 and an Icom 756proII with a Rigtalk USB interface to read the radio frequency. I have a problem in sometimes DX4WIN will record gibberish for the radio frequency. It sometimes flips between the gibberish and the real frequency as it polls the radio. Has anyone else experience this and knows how to cure it? As far as I know there is no problem with other programs. I also have Mixw for digital modes and it seems to not have this problem. 73 Jay Jay Hainline KA9CFD EN40om Colchester, IL ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
