[Dx4win] 802

2009-09-08 Thread PY2YP
I've just installed and started playing with. I did export a log using
7.02 using 603 filter and imported into thee 802 using 603 filter. The
invalid field is not being properly imported. Say, the P5RS7 (invalid
in 702) became valid in the 802. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for the new version and all those nice improvements and fixes.

[Dx4win] Error Mesage

2009-09-08 Thread Roger D Johnson
I reinstalled WinXP Pro and now DX4Win v8 will not run. This
happened with v8.01 and the recently downloaded v8.02.

I'm getting Application failed to initialize properly 0xc0150002

Dx4Win v7.07 runs fine!

Roger,

I added a note to the download page; you need to get an update from
MicroSoft.
(Refresh the page, otherwise you may see the old version)

Did you have this problem with 8.01? Can you try renaming DX4WIN.CFG

2009-09-08 Thread Mel
I ran into a similar problem. I'm not sure what I did wrong... but the
settings on the Reports tab in preferences was messed up when I copied
the save directory. Probably some changes in the .cfg file.

I fixed it by merging the DX4Win.ini file from 8.01.

Re: [Dx4win] 8.02 Question Slashed Zero font.

2009-09-08 Thread Mel
Probably... you know how to find out ;-)

I have found the Consolas font to work very well with DX4Win.
Use it instead of FixedSys.
Use Arial 9 for Heading and Consolas 9 for Listbox and Input.
Try it... I'm sure you will like it.

Go to Microsoft.com and search for Consolas Font Pack for the free
download.

BTW... I just found a way to screw up the report file.
remove all fields from a report and things get interesting. Many List
Index errors.

A bit of stupidity you might want to protect against in a future release

Dick, if you can find the .rep file, you can probably remove those

I did. Thanks, Jim. After removing those two reports, I have just
 four reports remaining defined:

 All Fields
 LogBook
 PSK score
 QSL labels

I also seem to have lost the Callsign, Grid, QSL Mgr and Update QSO
fields/buttons at the bottom of the Callsign/Mgr Lookup
window. Anyone know what I've done with them??

There it is!! I knew I'd left them somewhere. :)

I edited the .rep file with WordPad, being sure to leave a blank line
to terminate the reports I wanted to keep.

Yeah, it does look a little funny (but I didn't get any list index
errors). I'm sure Paul will add it to his list, but I think he's done
making changes for a little while.

[Dx4win] DXCC Award Question

2009-09-08 Thread Dick Flanagan
I have a very basic question on how DXCC awards are tracked.

Let's take a very simple example. I have confirmed SSB contacts with
Morocco (MO) on 9 DXCC bands.

When I look up my DXCC credits for MO, I see I have credit for Mixed,
Phone and 9 bands.

When I go to D4W I find the nine QSOs. Each of those nine QSOs has:

   DXCC Mixed Checked
   DXCC Band Checked
   DXCC Mode Checked

Is that correct? My question centers around the Mixed
status. Should all nine QSOs have Mixed Checked or only one of
them? If only one, which one? Someone I respect has told me that
for each country, only one QSO can count for Mixed credit. If true,
is it the same for Mode credit?

I guess the question is should D4W reflect each QSO that qualifies
for Mixed credit or only the ones that actually were accepted for
Mixed credit? I have over 1500 confirmed QSOs that qualify for Mixed
credit, but only a 320 Mixed Country count. Should I have 1500 QSOs
marked DXCC Mixed Credit or only 320 of them?

Just when you think you know all the answers, you get old and forget
the questions! :(
