[Dx4win] Invalidate QSO

2010-10-18 Thread F6EXV Paul
  Hello all
Before I try this, I would like to know if anyone else has done it
successfully.
I need to invalidate various QSO in DX4Win (version 8.03) and have read
that putting a ! before the callsign in the callsign box will work.
Like !XZ5A for example.
Anyone has tried ?

This is in order to upload my log to Clublog without the callsigns which
I know are invamlid for DXCC (but that I want to keep in my log).

Thanks

[Dx4win] Award credit

2010-10-18 Thread Dennis Andrews, F5VHY
A strange problem! I am loading some old logs into DX4WIN. I find that any QSO
before 1st June 1983 does not create any award credits. This is on v7.05.04 -
but I find the same effect on old versions of 6.02 and 5.03. But if I load the
log into v4.05 all the award credits appear.

I tried a test with setting up a new log on v7.05 and just entering one QSO.
With a current date, the DXCC credit appears. But if I then progressively
change the date back to 1983, the credit disappears when it goes back beyond
1/6/83. Same on v6 and v5 but OK on v4.

Anyone else come across this problem?

Re: [Dx4win] Invalidate QSO

2010-10-18 Thread F6EXV Paul
  Larry
I had not thought of that option
I did mark those QSOs with I but did not think of filetring on this !
Great idea, and must work !
Will try on my next upload to Clublog !
Many thanks

 Paul,

Using a test log file, I attempted to create a QSO with a ! as the
first character of a callsign - failed. DX4WIn would not create a
 record with an invalid callsign.

Here is a method that will work:

Mark the QSO(s) you do not want: QSO Mark as invalid for awards.
Set a filter = -- in the DXCC Mixed field.
Notice that the I invalid QSOs are now excluded.
File Export using the current filter.

 Hope this helps,

Re: [Dx4win] Award credit

2010-10-18 Thread Dave Sharred
HI Dennis

I know I replied off group; but I have found something strange on this.

I created a new log, for this test.

I entered a QSO with F5VHY on 20m, for today; then checked the Reports tab,
and looked at DXCC Summary - I have France worked of course.

I changed the QSO date to 01/01/1983, just to better the date that you gave;
and did the same again - I lost my credit for working France! I checked the
dates; and you are right- anything before 1st June produces no credits; 2nd
June is fine !!

I then entered a QSL Y for our imaginary QSO - Voila, as we say; the QSO
is shown as confirmed !!

This behaviour holds true for 1970's QSO's too; I cannot think that this is
intended behaviour !!!

But I found a workaround too Dennis - fill in the QSL date; even for a
non-QSLled contact; all is well again !!

Does anyone know if this has been reported before??

(I am running DX4WIN 8.04)

Re: [Dx4win] Award credit - Found the problem !!!!

2010-10-18 Thread Dave Sharred
Go into Setup Parameters; Personal; you need to set Worked cutoff and
Mailed cutoff to Zero !!

 Worked Cutoff
QSOs worked longer ago than the number of days specified will be marked as
'not worked'. Used to ignore QSOs that are not likely to be ever confirmed
because they took place too long ago. The DX Spots Window for example will
show the colors as if this QSO did not exist. A value of zero is used to
ignore the CutOff and view all QSOs as 'worked' regardless how long ago the
QSO took place.

 Mailed Cutoff
Similar as Worked Cutoff, but the QSL date is used instead of the QSO date.
QSOs for which a card has been sent longer ago than the number of days
specified will be treated as if a card was never sent. This can be used in
reports and summary windows and when marking additional QSOs for QSLing. A
value of zero is used to ignore the CutOff and view all QSLs that were
mailed as 'mailed' regardless how long ago the mailing took place.

Mine was set to 1; bet yours was too Dennis!

[Dx4win] question

2010-10-18 Thread Bob Garceau
It just occurred to me that I use DX4WIN to upload to LOTW.

My contest files are imported into DX4WIN, i.e. JARTS and more contests to
come between now and December 31st.

I have a bunch of PJ's logged in. Should I still upload everything
(including the PJ's) to LOTW or should I make sure that none of the new
country QSO's get uploaded?
