Re: [Dx4win] Logbook/Group Numbers and End Dates

2013-02-24 Thread Kostas SV1DPI
Dan has right. You can put any of your QSOs in one only group. For
example group 1 contains NY qsos and group 2 contains AZ qsos. When you
search (f8) for group 1, you will get back all NY qsos. If you search
for group 0 you will get back qsos from all groups. So probably you talk
about selections which is some different. Your standard selection
probably contains all of your qsos. So then you see all of your dxcc
totals. If you make a selection for the qsos from NY, and select it,
then your DXCC totals for example, is what you have done from NY only,
and etc. Now abt your question: if you want to change the date abt a
selection you have done, you must write the new date and after that
press update.

Groups can be any date since you specify each QSO to a certain group #.
If you want to view (filter) only a certain group # then you go in to:

Filter and Search by group number

OR if you want a selection instead:

Filter
Selection
Under Current Selection if you have already created the other selections
you will see the date range (leave the end blank for no end date)
If you do not have a selection yet, choose ADD, Rename + Set date range +
Double click the group # you want in the selection (can choose more than
one, but you appear to want only one)

Try that. Dan KI6X

Subject: [Dx4win] Logbook/Group Numbers and End Dates

I don't know what happened. I have three different groups. Group Zero is
All QSOs. The begin/end dates are OK. Group One is all QSOs since
11/29/2009, aka Arizona QSOs. For reasons unknown, the end date of Group
One is now 01/01/2013 and I don't seem to be able to change it. I want to
make it 01/01/2099 but I can't seem to get the end date to save. The third
group is a subset of Group One is 2012 ARRL DX Phone. Its dates are OK.

I know it's probably a simple step but what to do to set the end date of
Arizona QSOs, please?

Wretched excess is just barely enough.

[Dx4win] Cat problems with Dx4win

2013-02-24 Thread Kostas SV1DPI
One closed friend asked me to help to solve a problem with cat control
and dx4win. I solved the problem but i would like to mention it here.
Maybe someone has the same and find a solution or Paul does something
for it. So...
My friend had a kenwood 850 and a serial cat interface bought from ebay.
He used a prolific usb to serial interface to connect it with the
computer. Dx4win was giving timeout while Ham Radio Deluxe could read
normally the radio!!! After some search the problem found to be that usb
to serial was plugged to a usb hub. When we plug the usb to serial
direct to a computer's usb, both dx4win and HRD work normally. I suppose
that dx4win waits for a quicker response from the radio in compare with
HRD. Tests with a slower poll rate (I think 500ms) didn't solved the
problem.
