[Dx4win] USB to parallel port
Need a suggestion for best USB to parallel port converter. Switching to WIN7 and want parallel port keying with DX4WIN. Re: [Dx4win] USB to parallel port
USB to parallel adapters are not port mapped devices and as such they will not work with software like DX4Win that use direct port writes. Unless you are using a laptop with no expansion bus, your best solution is an add-on serial/parallel card for either PCI or PCIe bus. 73, ... [Dx4win] Corrupt log file?
Howdy folks Went to open one of my log files and it opens to 56% and then just sits there, and seems to pretty much tie up everything else on the computer as well. I can open a different log file from Windows Explorer, and from there I can open other log files fine - just not the one in question. So I'm guessing that log has been corrupted somehow. Before I jump into, deleting or overwriting old .DXL file, changing .~XL file to .DXL, and then attempting to open again, I just want to make sure this is the way I should do this. I have appropriate backups of .~XL, etc. Thanks! 73, Mike K9NW __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] USB to parallel port
Speaking of which, I have a brand new SYBA PCI-E parallel port card that I don't need, and will send to the first person who comes up with the postage - estimated $5 US, or tell me your QTH if abroad. 73, Pete N4ZR Check out the Reverse Beacon Network at http://reversebeacon.net, blog at reversebeacon.blogspot.com. Re: [Dx4win] USB to parallel port
Don't know about USB to parallel, but I use an FTDI chipset USB to RS232 converter and then a photo-coupler interface to key my rigs and it works fine with DX4WIN. 73, Jim - N4ST -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of David Strout Sent: Thursday, August 15, 2013 17:12 To: DX4WIN Reflector Subject: [Dx4win] USB to parallel port Need a suggestion for best USB to parallel port converter.
