Were any of them spotted? Try SH/DX on a few of the calls.

It's working here. KO3F was just spotted on 40 SSB from TR22.

Hire a secondary school or university student, or a retiree who has
the time.  You can always go over all the QSOs afterward and make
corrections as needed.  I do think the the DF3CB utility is the
fastest way to go, especially if you only care about
call/date/time/band/mode.

I'm glad I did this back in the early 1990s when I had no station.

Re: [Dx4win] Importing papar logs

I did log all paper QSOs using Fast Log Entry by DF3CB which makes the
task very fast and easy. After typing a given period you have to
generate an ADIF file then import it from the DX4WIN. The nice side of
typing, despite of being a little tedious, is that I did find several
new band countries, most of them deleted ones, that I didn't know that I
had. By the way I don't know any OCR smart enough to understand
callsigns, if some one find one please let me know, I'd love to try it.

Has anybody found a fast way to do it, like scanning, using OCR etc...How did
it work and how much time it takes per 1000 QSOs??

Hello Cesare,
Thank you very much for fast response. I did not know anything about FLE, just
downloaded it now. I was using BV7 for QSL prints from the beginning, but did
not know Bernd has nade the Fast Log Entry. So, will try it, though I still
think it will take a lot of time to enter all paper QSOs even with this short
method. But will see if my nerves support it, HI!
Best 73 and thanks again,

Re: [Dx4win] Importing papar logs

2016-01-15 Thread John Unger

Hi Radi -

Randy, K5ZD, put me on to LM, by DL6WAA, when I volunteered to
transcribe paper logs for the WPX. It does a good job of streamlining
this task as much as possible, but it's still a time consuming job doing
it by hand like this...

You can export a file in a number of different formats.

Good Luck!

[Dx4win] Importing Paper Logs

2016-01-15 Thread Alan Walters via DX4WIN
I commenced using DX4Win in the mid-90s and immediately commenced to covert
my paper logs to digital format. I used "Basic Log" which is an Excel
program to enter the fundamental QSO information and then transform the file
to adif format. The process is pure drudgery but in time all QSOs in my
paper log were in an adif file and then imported into DX4Win. I have never
regretted the effort it took.

I did a quick internet search to see if this was still on line but could not
find it. But I have the original zipped free-ware file and will be happy to
send it to anyone interested. Simply let me know.
