I just tried this with my own log. If I perform an F8 search with Custom award = POTA, and don't change anything in the Custom award value field, DX4WIN finds 1960 POTA QSOs in my log. If I perform an F8 search with Custom award = POTA and '*' (asterisk) in the Custom award value field, DX4WIN finds 1927 QSOs in my log. It does not find the 33 QSOs that have POTA in the Custom award field, but no park number in the Custom award value field.
