Re: [Dx4win] LotW import problem
Hi I import the LOTW download (with all details checked) into my 8.05 log and I have just checked my log by searching using F8 with the State/Oblast abbreviation in the box. I do not get one single non-USA call-sign appearing! I checked against. AL GA IN KS MA MD MO NV OR and TN. I wonder why ? 73 John 5Β4ΑΗΚ I just noticed an unusual problem while importing LotW QSOs into the log. When a Russian station has its Oblast set in the LotW QSO details that matches an abbreviation of a US state, the state flag for that particular QSO in DX4Win gets changed from blank to the state matching the abbreviation and, in addition, the zone of the station changes to the zone matching the state. This is something that changed in LoTW in the last 6 months or so. After every import, I always search for Import: in the Notes for this QSO field. If I run across the situation described above, I simply erase the State field in the QSO (and save it using F10) and all returns to normal. I hope Paul can fix this in a future version of DX4WIN, i.e. qualify filling in the State field with the DXCC entity. 73 - Jim AD1C --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. http://www.avast.com __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] lost logs
Hi Log into Clublog, choose SETTINGS then click on the CALLSIGNS tab then click on the DOWNLOAD box (right hand column) that's applicable to the call-sign. 73 John 5B4AHK. P3M. G3SZG. Re: [Dx4win] ADIF
Hi Dwayne Agree with all said so far, just don't write a file extension name .dxl or .adf etc, ONLY the name of the file and the program will create an ADIF file for uploading 73 John 5B4AHK. P3M. Choose a name like VE6QX-October-2-2014. That will give you an ADIF file that you can sign with TQSL. It sounds like you're saving the log records to VE6QX.DXL, which is a very bad idea as it will over-write your log. 73, -RIck On Thu, Oct 2, 2014 at 5:13 PM, Dwayne 8...@telus.net wrote: Tnx very much everyone for responding... Iam afraid of screwing up the original file in my program... And it won't let me rename this file so that it can be a new file. Duane, I'm a little confused here. Your DX4WIN log file has a .DXL file extension. This is the file you do not want to over-write (unless you are re-saving your log). An exported ADIF file will have a .ADI file extension. When you try to save the exported ADIF file, just type a unique name into the File name: field in the Save As window. That name will automatically have the .ADI extension appended onto it when you save the file. Then remember this name, because you will need it for whatever program into which you are importing it. Re: [Dx4win] LoTW CONFIRMATIONS
Hi Andy I use DX4WIN 8.05 When I receive new confirmations in LOTW, a) I import the LOTW downloaded ADIF file into DX4WIN b) I upload the same LOTW ADIF file to Clublog, as a merged file c) about every 3 months I do a full upload from DX4WIN to Clublog just to make sure, using the delete existing log option. Not sure if this helps but maybe you are missing step b) Good luck 73 John 5B4AHK. P3M. G3SZG. On 23 Sep 2014, at 18:50, andyphewitt andyphew...@btopenworld.com wrote: I am using version 8.05. Just now I was checking something on ClubLog and noticed that some QSOs were just showing as worked (W) and not confirmed (C) as I knew them to be. Once a week or so I produce an ADIF file and do an upload to LoTW using the functionality of DX4W and TQSL. I wait a while then download from LoTW the report which I import into DX4W. All the confirmed QSOs then appear as such in the log. I have always used the same ADIF file to upload to ClubLog and it had appeared to be functioning well. Any QSOs confirmed by card since the last import show on the upload but now it seems that LoTW confirmations are not managed the same way. How can I get my LoTW confirmations to be exported to Club Log? I think I will have to delete my log from ClubLog and do an export/import of the entire log afresh.
