[Dx4win] How to do a *complete* uninstall?
Hello all, I have a problem with what I believe must be a corrupted file within DX4WIN (see image at link): http://www.ae5x.com/docs/dx4win.jpg This garbled text is only visible when I go to the Import/Export menu. Otherwise the program works fine. I've uninstalled and then re-installed the program but still have the problem. Is there something that stays behind even when uninstalled that I should delete manually? Thanks and 73, John Harper http://www.ae5x.com/blog __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] How to do a *complete* uninstall?
Tnx all - I copied the IEP file from another computer into the SAVE directory on the problem computer to no avail. When attempting the next step - uninstalling - I couldn't find DX4WIN in the list of programs available to be uninstalled... So then I replaced the entire SAVE folder from good to bad computer - still the problem exists. I'll keep tinkering with it - thanks for the suggestions and 73, John AE5X http://www.ae5x.com/blog - Original Message - From: Jim Reisert AD1C To: John Harper Cc: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Sent: Friday, June 08, 2012 3:28 PM Subject: Re: [Dx4win] How to do a *complete* uninstall? Look for a DX4WIN.IEP file in your SAVE directory after you un-install. Remove it. Then install again. -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ DX4WIN mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:DX4WIN@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

Clicking on the unwise file in the folder and uninstalling that way, then re-installing. OK, but what fixed it? This isn't the first report of this problem, so it'd be nice to know what to do in the future. 73, -Rick On Fri, Jun 8, 2012 at 6:54 PM, John Harper j...@ae5x.com wrote: Problem resolved - thanks guys! [Dx4win] Disappearing QRP flag when importing...
Hello folks, Here's the problem - I hope there's a fix: I periodically F8/Search for my QRP contacts, then export (using the filter) the data as an adif file. Then I create a new log to import the adif into. When I do, the QRP flag is set to No even though all the QSOs were obviously QRP. Is there any way to keep the flag set to Yes? Thanks much, John Harper AE5X Portable QRP: http://www.ae5x.com
