[Dx4win] DX4WIN with K3 Elecraft on 2m/70cm

2013-05-03 Thread Milan Gütter, OK7GU

Hi all,

How learn DX4WIN for read and write correct frequency with Elecraft K3
when click on DX Spot from 2m / 70cm?

K3 works on 28MHz and has a transvertor 144/28MHz and 432/28MHz.

When click on DX spot DX4WIN says Bad frequency for radio.
Some logical condition in the Elecraft k3.rig file?

Band switching and Frequency works OK

[Dx4win] ZL9HR coordinates - wrong Low Bands prediction

2012-12-01 Thread Milan Gütter , OK7GU
Hi,

for ZL9HR DXpedition the DX4WIN8.05 gives SR 16.40UTC and SS 08.46UTC for
Dec. 1st, 2012.
DX4WIN coordinates for Auckland Campbell Isl.(File-Databases-Countries) is
E166,10 and S50,73.

ZL9HR web
http://www.campbell2012.com/index.php/plans
respective the
http://k3el.wordpress.com/dx/zl9hr/propagation/ says
.sunrise at 1559 UTC on 3rd December

Wikipedia and UNESCO coordinates is E169,09 and S52,33:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campbell_Island,_New_Zealand
http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/877/multiple=1unique_number=1029

After ZL9 coordinates correction in DX4WIN for the ZL9HR DXpedition
the SR is 16.20UTC and SS is 08.42UTC (December the 1st)

This correction is quite important for TB and 80m prediction - the
difference is quite important.

73 / GL with ZL9HR (not easy for EU)

Re: [Dx4win] Rotor Control (W9RPM)

2011-04-17 Thread Milan Gütter, OK7GU
John,

I agrre, for me will be fine to have not 2 but 3 rotors and not 2 but 3
or more radios control.

Integration of a RS232 to USB converter will be fine.
Most of NB has no COM port, only USB ports.

I was wondering if it would be possible to add a 2nd Rotator control
like there is for radios. Would be nice option to have as I am sure that
many people have more then one tower and may have different Rotator's. I
would think that this would be an easy option to have. Hope I am not
 wrong. Thanks, 73 John W9RPM

Re: [Dx4win] windows 7

2010-12-21 Thread Milan Gütter, OK7GU
William,

For me DX4WIN works great with my Asus 64bit with Windows 7 Professional.

My Asus has two discs.
Standard C and solid state D.
My DX4WIN is installed on
D:\Program Files\dx4w804

I think it will be better to use the
C:\Program Files (x86) directory
for DX4WIN. The reason - much simple installation.

I´am using two radios.
First Radio 1 as local, the second Radio 2 remotely controlled.
Antenna Rotator, RTTY, PSK31, CW nad RTTY keying works OK.

Only one problem I have is that DX4WIN can´t identify the right radio
for CW keying.
The reason - LPT port is missing on (not only my) notebook.
DX4WIN use LPT port for Radio 1 / Radio 2 signal.

I have been watching the Win7 comments on this list, but I wonder if anyone
has Win7 working correctly including holding window sizes/positions between
sessions? I am being pushed to Win7 but I am afraid I will not like DX4WIN
 in that envoriment.

 Thanks for the info,

[Dx4win] A useful program for antenna Rotator tracking with DX4WIN

2010-12-21 Thread Milan Gütter, OK7GU
Hi all,

I´am using DX4WIN for my remotely installed beam control.
I have not the Rotator Controll box in my shack, I can´t track
my actual antenna direction during rotation.

I found nice program for antenna tracking, the PstRotator.
http://www.qsl.net/yo3dmu/index_Page346.htm

Works not only for DX4WIN, but for many other logs.
Now I can track my antenna during turning to desired direction.

[Dx4win] How with CW for Notebook without LPT?

2010-12-02 Thread Milan Gütter, OK7GU
Hi all,

My Asus NB with Windows 7 has no LPT port, no COM port, only USB.
Iam using USB to serial convertors for drive my radios (Yaesu, Kenwood),
rotator and for CW keying.

I need Radio 1/2 signal for CW keying.
DX4WIN 8.04 generates this signal only via LPT ports.
I have no LPT port in my NB.

How can I get Radio 1/2 signal for CW keying?
