Re: [Dx4win] Broken Printer Driver in v9?

As Eric knows I have the same issue with a Dymo 450 printer. I am also

Anyone else having printer issues?

The label size reported by the printer is correct.

The label size shown in DX4Win is *not* what I set it for when
editing. Try as I might, no matter what I enter, DX4Win will not
change it.

Others have reported that they, too, had luck with v8, but not v9.

I there a fix?

Re: [Dx4win] Printing with Brother DK-1201 labels?

2020-08-07 Thread Wayne M

Hi Kostas, and anyone else having this issue.

I am having the same issue with v9.x Of DX4W. After spending a lot of
time trying to get the Dymo 450 to print labels correctly, I went to
V8.05 and found out it worked as described. Something in V 9.X is broken
with the Custom Label part of DX4W 9.x.

Since there has been no other posts I have to figure no one else has a
work around or fix.

I am writing here to let everyone who has this problem know, the only
way I was able to get the labels to print correctly was to use DX4W8.05.
DX4W 8.05 and 9.x will work on the same computer in different
directories and you have to export v9.x logs to version 8.05 in order to
print the labels.

Hi All,

I now have a Dymo 450 Turbo LabelWriter. I've been try to print labels
from DX4W as I have in the past with Avery labels.

After a lot of experimenting I've come to the conclusion the label
editing for size is not working. No matter what I put in the editor the
report box is still to long for the standard 2 1/4 x 1 1/4 Dymo label.
On Jim's web site there is an app note for Dymo printing which I've been
trying to work with and brought me to this conclusion.

Has anyone else found this out and have you found a work around?

Is there a way to print labels to a CSV file that could be imported to
LabelWriter?

Thanks,

Wayne?? WA1PMA

[Dx4win] Ver9 label editor

2020-03-24 Thread Wayne M

Hi ALL,

If you've followed my saga about labels, the answer turns out to be the
ver9 DX4WIN label editor is broken.

I loaded up Version 805 and brought over the log from V9 and the editor
works fine. I can now print Dymo labels as noted on Jim's DX4W web site.

I don't know how to get this custom label into V9 but will hope Paul
finds a way to fix this in Ver9 DX4WIN.

This converts to the same size label I'm using ref number 30334 which is

Hi Dave,

You may want to search the Archives. I seem to remember seeing someone

Hi Steve,

Make a copy of your log and store it someplace different. Rename

Re: [Dx4win] HELP!!!

2013-03-20 Thread Wayne M

Andy,
Did you use either Jim's AD1C update utility or go to PreferencesQSO
secondary backup to use the built in secondary backup?

Both of these produce an optional backup of your log. Jim's when doing
an update and the DX4W each time you save your log. That way you will
have a complete log before a crash.

You should keep backup files in a different directory from the DX4WSave
and hopefully on a different storage device than the computer's hard disk.

Hope you get them all back...

Why would you use LOTW if all you need is a printout of calls and no
cards unless CQ wants to see a card? I would think there is some more
ironing out to do here for anyone to use LOTW for this.I don't think you
even need eQSL for WPX.

I only have 64 mixed on LOTW so far when DX4W reports 1100+.

Per the CQ Awards Rules:

 F. Cards need not be sent, but they must be in the possession of the
applicant. Any and all cards may be requested by the WPX Award
Manager or by the CQ Awards Committee.

That begs an interesting question. Presuming you do what you say,
will those credits be back-annotated into the LoTW database, or will
LoTW try to submit the same prefixes for credit *again*, even though
you had done the initial submission using eQSL?

Now I have to go check my eQSL prefix totals

Re: [Dx4win] MKII and Router 8.14

2012-06-14 Thread Wayne M
Thanks John for the reply.

I guess I will have to dig deeper into my setup to see why I am having a
problem. I'm going to setup another computer with a fresh copy of Win7
and see how that goes with DX4W and uRouter. I am using Win7 x64 but
there may be an issue with something left in my system from before.
Strange that 7.7.1 works fine and has worked fine all along.

Thanks again for the information.

 Hi All,
I've been using a microHam MKII with router 7.7.1 since 7.7.1 came out and
all has worked well. I did an update to 8.14 and when trying to close DX4W
 the computer locked up hard.

Has anyone else updated to 8.14 with the MKII? Have you or do you have any
 erratic behavior after this update?

I'm trying to find out of it's something specific to my system.

 Thanks

Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN UPDATER PROBLEM

2012-04-15 Thread Wayne M
I had the same issue with a new update. It is the fullist.xml file that
is causing the problem. Delete the file in the save directory and the
program should run ok again.

Jim,

for some reason the latest update with fullist.xml was the problem I
had here.

It sounds like some file didn't update correctly, like the URL was not found.

I don't know which file it is, however, see if you can find out by
examining each one in the UPDATE directory, looking for this xml
 version text at the top.

I just ran the update myself and did not have any problems.

I just updated to a new computer running Windows 7.

Downloaded DX4WIN ver. 8.05 and got everything loaded and running
 correctly..logbook, MTTY, PSK, Winkey, etc.

I then downloaded DX4WIN Data Updater ver. 5.1, unzipped to the DX4WIN
directory, copied the .RC file to the DX4WIN directory, then ran the
Updater. Updater added 8 new files with no errors.

When I then tried to open DX4WIN I got the following error messages:

1.Invalid at the top level of the document. Line: 5 echo?xml
 version=\1.0\ encoding=\U.

 2. When I attempt to open my logbook I get another error window.Access
violation at address 0063FE4C in module 'dx4win.exe'. Read of address
. Hit OK button, and QSO window opens.

 3. Next error window pops up.A fatal error occurred reading the log
 file. Hit OK button.

 4. Any attempt to do anything with the QSO window brings up the nest
error window.Access violation at address 00627A28 in module 'dx4win.exe'.
 Read of address 0008.

 5. I then closed DX4WIN, and got this error box.Access violation at
address 0046981B in module 'dx4win.exe'. Read address 0057.

I tried deleting all files and folders, and reloading into a different
 directory.all with the same results.

 Any ideas???

[Dx4win] Ignore mode in real time

2009-01-30 Thread Wayne M
Is any one else having trouble with ignore mode in real time changing
to being active without checking it so? Using DX4WIN 7.07.02 with a
Yaesu FT1K MK V and MKII under WinXPpro.

I've notice recently while switching modes and using F9 suddenly the
radio is in the ignore mode state with a check mark I didn't apply.

Thanks for any insight..

[Dx4win] Talk Window in 7.02

2007-02-27 Thread Wayne M
Jim,
There is a separate window that opens in DX4WIN when you receive a talk
message. I still have the window open in 7.0.2 but it was initialized
from an older version. I'm not sure how one would get to this now with
the choices in preferences as I looked for an option to check and
couldn't find one.

 Hi John,

There is no separate Talk window. Do you mean the Warning Messages
 window?

In File - Preferences - Packet1, change Warning Messages to List
 in Window and save.

announcements. Enable it thew way I describe below.
