Any help on how to configure WSJT-X to log my QSOs to dx4win v 9.0.4.1176?

Re: [Dx4win] DXLab

2013-08-02 Thread w8gc
I agree if not for Jim I would be gone - if Paul wants this to continue
he best make some changes

All,

My two centsthis is not a matter of making money off DX4WIN.
Nobody expects to get rich especially when dealing with us frugal hams.

How many of us would stay with DX4WIN if Jim AD1C didn't provide those
valuable adjuncts? I venture to say, I would have walked long ago
along with many on this reflector.

1. Is DX4WIN my program of choice? Yes, it is the most stable, easiest
to use and demands less of my CPU than the others. Is it the most MS
DOS 3.0 looking interface? Yes!

2. Is DX4WIN is dire need of a facelift, Yes! Does it have warts? You
bet.

3. Does DX4WIN need improvements. Yes!(LOTW interface, multiple
cluster sourcing, new rig files (FT3K ), etc.)

Here's my bottom line- would I recommend DX4WIN to a new user with the
current level of support and frequency of updates from the author, no
way. Start with DXLabs and go forward.

In my opinion, this is a matter of continuing support of a product. If
we want enhancements, we should pay for them but to ignore
enhancements, withhold support or walk away for weeks/ months on end
from DX4WIN isn't playing right with the users. To continue to sell
DX4WIN to new users isn't going to make anyone rich but there is a
unwritten contract that goes along with the sale of the software,
which is continuing support of the product.

[Dx4win] TQSL 1.14.1

2013-06-03 Thread w8gc
Just a suggestion if you are signed in to the ARRL lotw site and you try
to use TQSL 1.14.1 it will go through the complete process and tell you
it did not work, you can not be in the web site and upload from TQSL 1.14.1

Maybe that is some of the problem? I use it 2 or 3 times a week with
zero problems.

I agree, its a pain the way it is and no good reason to see all the
extra bands modes when you have already selected what you use

But in the ENTRY WINDOW, I have to go through all the possible bands and modes
when again I need to narrow them down to what I use in my particular operation.
Did I miss the place where I can select my particular operating bands and
modes, and not have the others in the way, in the entry window?. There are 38
modes to select from and 22 bands there

How can I have only my bands and modes to show in the entry window to speed
up the entry of contacts?

This seems to be a new bug in the current version of DX4WIN.
I have both a direct as well as a wireless connection to the VE7CC
software, and I never lose my connection from DX4WIN, and haven't for
 years, in any version.

I agree. Some of the other reflectors I subscribe to have split into
multiple groups each having a narrowly defined topic. You lose the
benefits a more general group can provide.

Please, let's not split into two groups. Let's keep the
mailman.qth.net the primary group. There's no need for two. I
subscribed to the Yahoo! group for about a week, but all the real
activity was here. I have enough to do instead of monitoring two
different groups for the SAME piece of software.
