[Dx4win] Other QSOs - Query
This might be a bit late to investigate. but 'what-if' I decide to open a brand new log for (say) 2010, is there any way to run the 'Other QSOs' box concurrent with the new log so that previous contacts can be viewed? I guess this wont be possible as the previous contacts would be in a different .dxl file, ? Re: [Dx4win] Other QSOs - Query
No. And why would you want to do that Steve? DX4Win handles very large databases without issues. You could start using a new default group to facilitate splitting... though I would think that the date would be sufficient. Re: [Dx4win] Other QSOs - Query
Steve, The best solution is to work with group names. I think you can make up to 256 groups. I do this for all my different operation and having just one single log. Can see instantly all previous QSO's but can also handle a single group by using a group filter. Works perfect. Re: [Dx4win] Other QSOs - Query
As I suggested... use a new group... the old 256 limit for groups is now gone AFAIK... I don't use so many. But you still use just one log file. You invoke the group filter when you want to track 2010 forward. Another trick you could probably use (haven't tried it) is to temporarily set the award dates to Jan 01, 2010 start. You can always change them back later. Steve GW4BLE wrote: Hi Mel, I just had an email from Dick PA3FQA - and I have explained what I need to do. See below.Does this sound OK to you? Re: [Dx4win] Other QSOs - Query
I think the text below may help people to assign a group. For 2010 statistics only: 1. Insert a group name in FILTER | EDIT GROUP NAMES - Press ADD. The number 000 will show up in the upper window, type in narrow window just below: ALL QSOs then press CHANGE. - Press ADD again. The 001 ALL QSOs will appear in upper window. In the narrow window overwrite ALL QSOs typing 2010 QSOs then press change. - Press OK to complete this phase. 2. Select FILTER | SELECTION - Press ADD - In CURRENT SELECTION window click REPLACE THIS NAME; - In GROUP NAME window double click the 2010 QSOs, a small X will appear it will look like this: 000 ALL QSOs x 001 QSOs em 2001 - In CURRENT SELECTION window change REPLACE THIS NAME to 2010 QSOs - In DATE FILTER window fill in FIRST DATE: 01/01/2010 - In ENABLE FILTERS windows select the DATE FILTER option - Press UPDATE then OK. The log now ill only present the statistics regarding to the year of 2010. To have the complete log back, just go to FILTER | SELECTION | CURRENT SELECTION and double click ALL QSOs. In case you need statistics for a specif date range just repeat the entire process filling the FIRST DATE and LAST DATE. The GROUP 000 is the default group so every time that the DX4WIN starts the complete log is selected. 73 DX de PY2YP - Cesar Mel wrote: As I suggested... use a new group... the old 256 limit for groups is now gone AFAIK... Re: [Dx4win] Other QSOs - Query
I don't agree that the group is the right way for this. Instead of groups you can use the selection itself in qso window go to FilterSelection Press add button in top window where it says All QSOs choose the Replace this name and do waht says. Let's say 2009 In Date Filter write the dates. for example First Date=01/01/2009 and Last Dtae=31/12/2009 Under enable filters check only the date filter box. Press update and OK now you have chosen only the 2009 qsos and you can see separate dxcc status for these. This is what i use for CQ Marathon (including Jim's AD1C routine) Now every time you choose All qsos you have all qsos and every time you choose 2009 you have only 2009's qsos.
