Arne,

In your station preferences make sure you have at least one mode and one
band enabled.

[Dx4win] V8.05 Problem

2017-11-14 Thread Arne N7KA
WINDOW displays on screen.

I get the following pip-up msg: An exception occurred! Fixed column count must
be less than count. This happens for all windows except SUNRISE/SET, LOGBOOK,
and SAMECALL.

I tried resizing, replacing .ini file from a 2nd computer tat works but still
not working. This problem arose after 1 month of not using the computer.

Any suggestions? And NO, I did not have a saved copy of original .ini file.

2013-08-20 Thread Art - W6KY
It sounds like you are just opening the same old V5 log 'again'...
Watch what you name your new log and where you save it.
Then open that log next time...
Save it as a 'save as' and rename it N4TJ-V8.05 as an example.
Then when you restart DX4WIN it will automatically open that
log.

Subject: [Dx4win] V8.05 PROBLEM

I recently had a PC crash and lost my backup save file, and decided to
upgrade from V503 to V805. My PC is having problems opening zip files,  and
I had a tough time opening the license key. After 4 days and some help from
Paul, I finally got it to load. I managed to salvage all but 150 or so of
the V503 log. These were loaded manually. I noticed that the countries
database was missing Z8 and closed the log to make the addition. When I did
this, the log file reverted back to the V503 log and those added were lost.
Every time I  close the log to access the countries database, the log
reverts back to V503. Could anyone shed some light on what I am doing wrong?
Tnx for help on this and the other questions I asked last week de N4TJ

To add to Art's comment:

When you try to Open a log in DX4WIN, you'll get the standard Windows
open file dialog. Click on the down-arrow (drop down) to the right of
File name:. Select the file you REALLY want to open. When saving
the log, make sure you are saving it to DX4W805 SAVE directory.

Re: [Dx4win] V8.05 PROBLEM

2013-08-20 Thread ALAN ZACK
Also after you save your log with all the latest changes go to FILE and open
the SAVE AS window and check the date and time of your .DXL file. It should
be the same date/time as when you just did the save. IF NOT, you are saving
the log in a different location. I learned this from a mistake I made years
ago when I accidentally changed my save location to an EXT HD as a means of
back up. After that my log kept getting saved to the EXT HD and not the
C:\DX4WIN file where it should have gone. After that, whenever I want to
back up my .DXL file I open the SAVE AS window, right click on my .DXL file
and then use the SEND TO function to send a copy of the file to other
devices.

[Dx4win] v8.05 - problem with sequential printing

2011-03-22 Thread Thorvaldur Stefansson
Since upgrading to v8.05 I have had problems with sequential printing.

The program only prints labels for the last call sign entered.

Once that is done and I clear the print flags, no other QSOs appear for
printing in the Print Labels in Sequence dialog.

However, when I call up a previous QSO (already flagged using the F2 key to
print in sequence) I get a message saying it is already in the print queue
and lo and behold there it appears and I can then print it with Print
Labels in Sequence.

I have been using the Print Labels in Sequence method for years when
processing directly received QSL cards and this is the first time I have
problems with the procedure.

My workaround is to process and print only one call sign at a time, however
this makes the process very time consuming.

Please advise.
