Re: [Dx4win] Version 7.01
It's usually a good idea to stay current. Older versions are more likely to encounter issues with newer Operating Systems. Only the latest version is going to receive ongoing maintenance. The biggest advantages of the newer version are improved interface to LotW, eQSL and the band map. However, the upgrade doesn't cost much, I think it is worth staying current. You should, at least, upgrade to 7.07. That costs nothing and a number of bugs have been addressed by the updates. Jim Brown wrote: I have 2 questions? I am running 7.01 for general logging. I don't do digital modes or telnet to a cluster. Is a reason I should upgrade to the new version? I also have an intermittent problem where when I open DX4WIN I can see that the program is trying to open because DX4WIN shown in the task bar but that as far as it goes. If I close that and restart normally it will load normally. Any ideas would be appreciated. 73 Jim N0WE __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
[Dx4win] Version 7.01 was at Dayton
Version 7.01 was on sale at Dayton this past weekend. They did not want to create a problem by having to support what they were doing at Dayton plus the online users. They should have it up on their web page before much longer, though. Paul sent out an e-mail yesterday stating their case about doing this. All I can tell you right now is that you will have to wait until they are caught up from Dayton and get the web page updated. It seems to have not been a very big deal to the folks that have everything worked on RTTY because I got some smirk e-mails from some of those guys stating so what. But the addition of MMTTY to it is a big plus to me because I still to work 190 more countries on RTTY to have them all. I enjoy having RTTY QSO's whether I need it as a new country or not and this version makes it much simpler. 73 Alan, N5PA

Actually, I downloaded the new version and filled out the order.txt and faxed it Tuesday morning. I received my key Tuesday afternoon. So they are working the orders. I'm with you Alan. I have a bunch to work on RTTY and instead of working them and then opening DX4Win to log them, I can do it all in one fell swoop. It's a great addition. [Dx4win] Version 7.01?
Jim, I know you guys have just got back from Dayton so your all tired and no doubt very busy, but when you have the new release up on the website I'll download it then. Now it appears I need to buy a new key, what is the upgrade price?? I have V6.04 at the moment. 73's de Tony G8DQZ

I just upgraded from 5.03 to 7.01 all works fine except: I have made many DXCC submissions using 5.03. With 5.03, each time I made a submission the program remembered what had been credited previously and only included the records I had individually marked for submission in the QSO window. Now when I try to make a submission using 7.01 it seems to start fresh and include hundreds of QSOs for which I have already been credited. I am missing a setting or something? Hi Bill, A few of things to try: 1. Copy your 5.03 log to your 7.01 directory and open it. Search for a QSO you know you have already submitted. Use F5 on the QSO window until you can see the award flags at the bottom. Is this QSO marked SUBMITTED or APPROVED? It should be. 2. Remember that after you receive award credits from the ARRL, you must change the Submitted flags to Approved. From the QSO window, Reports - Change Award Flags 3. DX4WIN will try to submit QSOs for every DXCC award that you have checked off in your preferences, even if you have less than 100 confirmations. It may be trying to re-submit QSLs you have already sent in order to get the band/mode confirmation for these QSOs. Go to Preferences and the DXCC tab. Check off ONLY the boxes you have active DXCC awards on. Save the preferences, then try the DXCC submission again. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, 7 Charlemont Court, North Chelmsford, MA 01863 USA +978-251-9933, [EMAIL PROTECTED], http://www.ad1c.us ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win

Both the packet window and the RTTY windows will keep the focus when double clicking on a callsign or entering a QSO. ? More modes were added ? Remember position of calendar window ? Cleanup of calendar is done automatically after importing new data ? Option to copy information from CDROM data to QSO Window ? Provide for five custom labels ? Made saving / restoring of label data independent of Windows country settings ? IOTA summary window expanded to show the modes ? County summary window expanded to show the mode ? Added BPSK31 to recognize PSK31 in packet spots ? Added 'Set QRP flag' to multiple QSO operations ? A double click in a summary window on the mode row header or the band column header will set a filter for the mode or the band only. ?
