Re: [Efw-user] 2.2 RC3 upgrade path?

2008-10-08 Thread Thomas Heimann
Well i have posted that sometimes :-)
Extract the rpms from iso (i.e. winrar or so).
Put them to efw (i.e. with winscp)
Install them with rpm -Uvh --nodeps --force
Reboot.
I have done that tonight.
This will work only on a 2.2x version not on 2.1.x i thing.
The 2.2 has a larger boot partition.

The other way is doing a backup reinstall and restore the backup.
I have done that from 2.1.2 to 2.2b4 with some issues.
Good luck

I'd also like to know the same. I'm planning on that same upgrade

 case.

Anyone that did it already care to shed some light?

I'm going to try to assist you over a forum to set this up. Also, different
versions of the PIX OS have different commands. Do you know the version
you're running. Cisco has some very good how-tos to help you acquire the
 knowledge.

Basics are that you setup some NAT exclusions for the remote end. Setup
the ISAKMP and IPSEC settings. Tie those into a service policy, and attach
it to the interface pointing toward the Endian box.

With those settings created, you will have everything you need to setup the
Endian... it's just hit the IPSEC VPN page, enable, hit the add button, and
 fill in the settings.

Re: [Efw-user] Re garding Endian firewall VPN Tunnel with Cisco PIX 515

2008-10-08 Thread compdoc

It's possible that someone in this list has a Cisco 515E and so could answer
you directly. But the only way to know is to try. It wont cost you anything,
except the use of a spare pc for a while.

It does take some time getting to know efw and it's settings, so if you dont
want to wait I could try creating an ipsec connection from a 2.2r3 test
server to your Cisco.

Cisco has these instructions:

[Efw-user] siproxd 2.2rc3

2008-10-08 Thread Matt Hayes
I'm curious if anyone else is utilizing the sip proxy in endian 2.2rc3

If so, and have gotten it to work, can you give me an insight as to are
you using as transparent or did you actually configure and outbound
server etc?

I have it configured, but not sure if my vonage adapter is actually
being intercepted by it.

Just curious.

Thanks,

Matt

firewall rules. These are two things that, if you don't know what you're

We've had some conversations off the list; I think he's headed in the right
