[Elecraft] T1 Antenna Considerations
Hello I have just received my T1 kit and i notice that under the above heading in the owners manual under random-wire antennas it states(avoid lengths close to a multiple of 1/2 wavelength on any band) please can someone explain why this is important,also i wish to use this tuner on the following bands 20/15/10m so a suggested wire length would be appreciated I only have 40ft of space to play with. [Elecraft] T-1 tuner in kit form
Hello all group members merry xmas and happy new year to all I will be shortly building the T-1 atu kit and would be gratefull to know if there are any build tips that i should look out for that are not covered in the instructions. Also my aim is to use the T-1 on 20/15/10m with my K2 and was wondering what antenna's have worked for others on these bands 80/40m are not going to be used at the moment and I only have 35ft of space to play with,also i have a elecraft balun built as 4-1 and i notice it has a earth terminal does this mean i can use it with a long wire if so what side do i connect the main wire to or does it not matter,i was thinking of a half wave wire 33.42ft on 20m with a quarterwave counterpoise this should also work on 10m but it is 15m that i am not sure about. [Elecraft] K2 L33 (BFO) aesthetics adhesives
Hello all What I did was to stick one of those double sided foam pads about 1 inch square and 1mm thick the type you stick posters up with onto the bottom cover then all I did was remove the backing of the pad that would be in contact with L33 and stick a cut square of black electrical tape onto the sticky pad and it is very difficult to remove, I have removed the bottom cover a number of times and it really sticks,please note I have not stuck anything direct to L33, my thoughts are that a small insulator could be supplied with the kit maybee a bigger version of the pads that are stuck on the corners of the front panel board what do you think elecraft.. [Elecraft] LSB/USB Audio
Hello all. I have been setting up my transmit audio on K2 #4785 lsb/usb,ok here is what ive noticed my usb reports on the conventional usb bands 20/15/10 are great no problems also reports on lsb conventional bands 80/40 are also great. When I listen to usb on 80/40 it seems muffled and also the same is true for lsb on 20/15/10 ok this is not a issue as I keep to the lsb/usb band conventions but can someone tell me why the audio is muffled in this way is it desighned to do this. Hello all Just an update on K2 #4785 wpx contest is raging in the UK and in a few hours operating on 20m ssb a total of 25 dxc worked including stations in Canada and USA some first call qrm is high in England the K2 rx is superb some stations not heard on my TS-870 cant wait untill the morning and another bash on 20m. [Elecraft] Missing parts
Hi Mike With ref to your missing part I needed a replacement part for K2#4785 it arrived in 10 days in the UK so very quick. Also a note to the group K2 #4785 is complete had first QSO with local station on 40m ssb and all is fine good audio report with MH2 mic albeit a very noisy band.support has been wonderfull when needed I will be active next week on 14285 +/- qrm so look out for me hi. [Elecraft] K2 #4785
Hi all. K2 #4785 is well under way no major problems yet. my kit was supplied with inductor L31 10uh. but due to xtal not being 'rubber' enough ref Gary at support, to give me the correct pll range. I am waiting on a replacement for L31 with a value of 12uh The manual states a prefered range of 9.8 to 15kHz my range was 9.06. I have noticed on the elecraft website under builder resource(after removing part grrr) that a range of 8.8 to 18kHz is ok, can someone explain these values, oh by the way I have cut out and destroyed in the process the 10uh choke so I have to wait for replacement, comments on cutting out parts before replacements arrive would not be helpfull at this stage i know im a fool hi. The big question is did I need to worry in the first place looking forward to replys. Hi all I have just finished alignment and test part 1 all is good except the test for setting the AGC threshold when I adjust R1 i can only get a max voltage of 3.30v is this ok ?. [Elecraft] Heil goldline with K2
Hi all I have a Heil goldline with Kenwood adaptor cable that I used with my TS-870 I would like to use this mic with the K2. Do I need a mic pre amp or do I just set the jumpers for a standard kwd.
