[Elecraft] N0SS Zero Beat Kit
I have never gotten around to installing the N0SS Zero Beat kit into my K2, and I probably never will. It should go to a good home instead of collecting dust here. So, in memory of Tom Hammond, I offer it for free including US postage. I ask that you promise not to let it sit on the shelf waiting forever for a "round2it", and send me a couple of pictures of the installation so I can see what I missed. Please respond off list. 73, Mike __ Elecraft mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/elecraft Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Elecraft@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html Message delivered to arch...@mail-archive.com

[Elecraft] Arrl Boxboro Mass. show
Just wanted to thank everyone who worked so hard to put together and staff a fabulous booth at the show! A couple of days of booth duty patiently and politely answering a wide range of questions is taxing enough but when you add setup and tear down its as much effort as a mini DXpedition. The second generation KPA 1500 definitely looks like it was worth the wait since the time I saw the original at Dayton. Hats off to the design crew for creating a new classic. I will order mine when the kit version comes out. As a television broadcaster, Over more years than I will admit, I have been involved with the deployment of numerous solid state high power transmitters and have toured several manufacturers development labs but never have I been able to put one together and I REALLY want that opportunity, even if it's solder free and doesn't save a lot of money. [Elecraft] P3 external touch screen
Hi With Field Day around the corner, I am planning to bring a larger LCD monitor than I use on my P3 SVGA when in my shack to enhance the visual experience of our guests. I have noticed that since last Field Day, the prices of touch screen monitors have fallen precipitously Our current generation of young prospective Hams are definitely touch screen oriented and I think they would find it attractive. Is there any way to use one with the K line? I am not adverse to using additional hardware. [Elecraft] Feature request: Audio balance control for K3
Would it be possible in software to add an audio balance control? As time has gone by my left ear takes a lot more drive to match the right and it's probably going to get worse. [Elecraft] Scheduling software?
I forgotten to tune in to a net or a bulletin so many times that I would like to have an automated solution. The K3 Alarm function is a good first step for a single event but what I would prefer is the ability to build a multi event schedule. Does anyone know if there already is a program where you can enter start times, duration, frequencies and modes, into a table then have the K3 folow the schedule? [Elecraft] re: Panadapter Kit
Elecrafters: As a follow up to Larry's post This is the first spectrum display I have seen (at Dayton) that meets the Elecraft tradition of matching or besting the performance of the kilobuck appliance rigs. If you have every wanted a high quality Panadaptor/BandScope for your K2, this kit appears to be the best option I have seen. Do not confuse this true state of the art design with the crude low res 3-D S-meters found in many rigs. This one is actually useable. The sweep speed is fast enough to see an opening pop up, way up the band, and have time to QSY to that frequency while there is a chance they are still there. The resolution is high enough to discern and analyze the type and quality of the modulation. I have been tried various Commercial Spectrum Analyzers (HP, Anritsu, R+S, Tek) as my panadptor since K2 #3339 first came alive. Visitors to my shack who had only used the typical bandscope displays became disgruntled with their performance after seeing the real thing. The usual reason for not adding a surplus spectrum analyzer as a panadaptor to their shacks has been but the large size of the instrument, fan noise and interfacing. The size and noise issues are clearly solved but what about interfacing. If you are a K2 owner it looks like that has been elegantly solved. A small custom buffer amp board (Z1) has already been designed for installation inside the K2. I have no connection to the manufacturer...etc Just an obsession with spectrum displays, in my profession and hobby 73, Mike W1BNC K2 #3339, and friends M I am posting this message to alert interested builders that Jack, K8ZOA is now taking orders for his Z-90 panadapter project kit. I showed his prototype at Dayton connected to my K2, and a number of Elecrafters asked me to post a message if the kit became available. You can find out more at http://www.cliftonlaboratories.com/ Note: I have no monetary interest in the Z-90... just helping a friend by getting the word out on a nifty kit. 73, Larry N8LP ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
