Re: [Elecraft] How many are still building K2's?

2011-09-02 Thread CRAIG W BEHRENS

I'm building one with almost all of the options.
There are still a lot of us that like to build these or have always wanted to
(on the bucket list).
I've got the control and front panel cards done, will add the SSB parts for the
front panel card and then move on to the RF card.
I'm taking my time and enjoying every minute of it.
We won't be able to get these forever--Elecraft won't be able to get all the
parts at some point.
So, if this is something you always wanted to do--better get to it soon.

I'm just wondering how many that still builds K2's.
I just ordered mine and was wondering if there still are a lot of people out
there that are building K2's or if the K2 building have slowed down due to
 the K3 and upcomming KX3.
Even though the K3 is a better transceiver, I chosed the K2 because it is a
kit who let me built it all my self.

I see K2 #7212 was just reported and I believe K3s are now approaching 6000.
At current rates the K3 may exceed K2 production sometime within 2012. How
about a free K3 to whoever buys the unit which makes K3 K2? :-))

What happens if K3 sales stall momentarily and the K2 passes it for a
bit? Does the winner of the free K3 have to then provide full payment?

Congratulations Martin and welcome among the K2 owners. Mine is now my second
rig as the K3 is my main home rig, but it is still a wonderful little rig
for travel with lots of performance.
