Is there any reason to believe this is inaccurate?

Check the “Shipping Status” link on the Elecraft home page. It shows the
shipping status on virtually all their products. It’s updated when there are
changes. KPA-1500 is shown as in stock, no doubt updated in the last few days.

Re: [Elecraft] Product availability communications (was: KPA1500 Amplifiers are now shipping from Stock)

2022-10-07 Thread Geert Jan de Groot

Hi Jim,

>> The missed point here is that the ability to buy parts
>> to build stuff has been ongoing for more than three years!

The issue isn't part scarcity though I don't envy the Elecraft engineers
re-re-re-redesigning to circumvent parts with long lead times or parts
going unobtainable.

The issue is lack of status updates and lack of communication. Apart
from the May 2022 message, and a minor update a few weeks ago, I have
not seen any updates for the last two years.

Elecraft would do well if they'd do, for instance, a monthly update
*every month*. And even if it would be "for XX, we expected to get ready
but we had another setback and we expect YY months of additional
delay" would be better received than the current silence.

We're not talking announcement of new product which is understandably
sensitive. We're talking managing expectations of product people have
ordered, and in many cases, paid for.
