Ken,
I use NaP3 with LP Bridge and Ham Radio Deluxe. I can control my
KX3 with either my logging software or NaP3.
IMHO, you really need to think about being able to make BOTH your
logging software and your display software know where you are tuned and
in what mode. Your station, for convenience reasons, should be
integrated. For instance suppose you see a signal on your display that
might be of interest. You put your pointer on it and click. Your KX3 is
now tuned to that signal and your logging software has followed. All you
need to do at this point is work the station and input the data to your
logging program.
As far as resource usage goes, I have found that HRD seems to
require more resources than NaP3. I suspect that the reason is the way
HRD passes data among itself. I haven't had real problems using my Win7
64 bit Intel I7 machine. Occasionally, I also run some DSP demods like
MixW simultaneously and that periodically cause some problems. On that I
need to be careful of loading order. Other than that I've had little
problems except not enough monitor space to see everything at once.

Hi from Ken W0CZ
I have KX3 SN 4275, a Windows 8 laptop and I am looking for a simple program
that would use the RX IQ jack to display a portion of the band the way my K3-P3
does. I do not need or want it to control my KX3 as I want my logging program
to control the KX3. I also don't want it to use too many resources on the
computer.
I see many programs that try to do everything but that is not what I want.
Thanks in advance if there is a program that will do what I need.
