Perhaps its time, to build your own homebrew transceiver rig? Tube type? Oven-heated crinkle-black paint, Millen meters? 5U4's? Honestly tho - for a price, perhaps you could talk one of us first-production K3 Kit owners, out of their rig. Reminds me of the 1978 U.S. gas crisis times, when I was able to buy a brand new Honda Civic CVC 25 mpg model - I had people offering to buy it from me, in parking lots. :) de Fred, 73's N3CSY Be a better Heartthrob. Re: I want this radio REALLY bad (was [Elecraft] K3 production runs -
If you have to have one right now, it's easy! Just download the image of the K3 and print it out on your printer to it's actual size. Then tape it to the front of your current rig or to a cardboard box. That's what I did while I was building my K2...well sort of. I have a picture of the K2 on the wall of my office. You could also use it as wallpaper on your computer. That might take the edge off while you are waiting. I haven't ordered one yet because, I just built the K2 and I'm having fun playing with it. I'll wait till Elecraft has them in stock and everyone else has had a chance to road test them. I hope this helps! Well, that would be governed by the rules and regulations of the IICA(International Inflatable Companion Association). Units that comply with the regulations would be shipped in complaince with all local ordnances. Inflated units could pose a problem, since there is no official VAT code for imported recrational air. Rusty Akins (callsign unknown) writes ... I want this radio REALLY bad, but it's very difficult to wait for it -- Hi Rusty, If the most important thing to you is having a K3 ASAP, then you might be able to find someone who has a first production run K3 on order, who would be willing to part with it for a sufficient premium, like four or five times the suggested retail price! Or, if you really can't want for a K3, then buy something else. 73, Gary KI4GGX ___ Elecraft mailing list Post to: Elecraft@mailman.qth.net You must be a subscriber to post to the list.
