Sorry to hear about the issues. When you sent the radio back, did you sent back the mic as well? I'm wondering if they tried to replicate it with the same mike you're using. My best guess is it's a problem with the microphone connector - either the plug or the socket - maybe the two aren't meshing properly. From what you describe, it sounds like the KX2 itself functions without issue, when not using the mike - confirm? Thanks & 73, -Andrew NV1B ..
