- Founded 83 years ago, the modelling company Graupner has a new owner now.
The previous principal supplier of the successful R/C system HoTT, also
supplying other R/C electronics and charging technology, has now taken over
the company after preceding insolvendy. The official business transfer to the
newly established company Graupner/SJ will be to 1st March 2013. The former
company Graupner GmbH Co.KG had several changes in the management in the
past and although the company had full order books, they were forced to file
for insolvency on 14th December 2012. The company’s location in
Kirchheim/Teck and the continuation of the R/C system HoTT is granted. The
product range will be continued in a limited extent. Job maintenance in
Kirchheim/Teck could not be guaranteed and the product range will be adapted
for being competitive. The production facility could not be continued at the
site in Kirchheim. The Managing Director of the new company is Mister Ralf
Helbing, in former times head of the development department. The technical
management is taken over by Mister Hannes Runknagel, in former times head of
Technics and service. Supervised by Ralf Helbing and in powerful cooperation
with the new owner, the R/C system HoTT and a tremendous part of the
electronic range have been developed and successfully introduced on the
market. In this way a package filled with deep confidence, efficiency and
plenty of ideas could be created. All these things will help feeding the new
company Graupner/SJ. Although Graupner had to announce its insolvency in
December 2012, many customers remained loyal to them and used to place orders
anyway. Against this background, a lot of tenderer set a signal of a
take-over bid towards the trustee, named Dr. Wolfgang Bilgery. Finally SJ
Incorporated got the acceptance, because they can offer Graupner and their
staff a promising prospect of the future. Graupner’s product range is large
scaled and will now be limited to a competitive circumference, by offering
individual and exclusive products. „The basic orientation of the company will
be kept and assured in such a way that the customers can purchase high
quality products from Graupner/SJ , how they used to do it in the past“, says
Ralf Helbing. Especially with regard to the HoTT system, R/C electronics and
the charging technology, the owner’s new combination offers an unsuspected
variety of possibilities for the development of new products. The customer
service for Graupner products, already sold, can be assured as well, in order
to form an uncomplicated and carefree transition platform from Graupner to
Graupner/SJ for all customers. A global extension of the distribution network
in the UK, US, Japan and Australia will ensure an increasing turnover rate
and a more efficient development and production of products. Most importance
is attached to distribute the products to retailers and hobby shops,
supported by offering direct sales in form of an online shop. But in the
first instance no HoTT products will be offered in this online shop for the
markets in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The structure of an own online
shop must assure a wider and continuous availability of Graupner/SJ articles
for all customers. The leadership team of the new company Graupner/SJ Ltd. is
looking forward to this restart in a positive way; the starting position is
very good. The company is able to work profitably, presenting high quality
and innovative products in due form and size and at competitive prices. On
this occasion synergies in procurement, production and distribution can be
useful for a worldwide market. Moreover a protected financing and solid
branch knowledge set up the basis to a successful and prosperous future.
Specialized knowledge and production possibilities of the new company
Graupner/SJ can be used as an additional option for products in the industry
sector. The rapidly growing market of brushless special motors for future
electric drive, quadrocopters and drones and their camera systems for civil
purposes and their flight attitude stabilization as well as GPS controls will
be developed. Such systems will frequently be used for a fast and economical
damage analysis for insurance companies, e.g. for valuation of buildings.
