Re: Which script to remove duplicates?

I'd advise using my scripts (obviously!)

I believe that both Allen's and Paul's scripts use the date/time
subject to identify unique messages. Mine uses the message-id header
(which is uniquely generated at the time of sending a message). If two
messages have the same message-id i guarantee they are duplicates. It
is theoretically possible that two messages could have the same
subject and sent time (if they are coming form a busy mailing list,
for example). Not very likely, but it is possible.

I remember looking at JR's script and forget what method it uses - i
seem to recall it is very thorough, but very slow.

Mine also has some nice audio feedback, just to let you know where
it's up to :)

Seriously, they all do the same job pretty well, they are all robust
and free so try them out and see which you prefer.

How many subfolder do you have? If it's a lot why not just use one
of the

script. Extra isn't' bad.

about 50...

and the script would kick out all 17 GB of this DB I am trying to help
a user pare down...

so yeah, right in the middle of all is too much, and one at a time is
the pits.

Thanks!

So if you create a new event in iCal in some other calendar, it won't sync
to Entourage. Change its calendar to Entourage, and it will.

You're a genius, I tell ya'. A genius! Thanks!

Entourage-iCal Sync

2008-09-05 Thread Roger S. Cohen
I am wondering about the stability of my calendaring system.

I am now doing this with my calendars:

Entourage 2004
Mac OS 10.4.11

iPhone 3G - iTunes - MacBook Pro iCal - MacBook Pro Entourage 2004

MacBook Pro iCal - SyncTogether - iMac iCal - iMac Entourage 2004

It seems to work (now that I know the secret of using iCal's Entourage
calendar only). But I'm concerned that the mechanism of syncing three
computers (including the iPhone), through iTunes and SyncTogether, seems a
bit jury-rigged.

What's your feeling?

17GB is huge.

My suggestion is to duplicate the Identity. Name it archive
Then from the main Identity delete all the extra emails using a custom view
(older than)
You can also delete the newer emails in the archive.
