From the above link click #2, the Compiled script. The download will be a
zipped file. Double-click that file and it will expand to the actual script

Pasting quirk

2008-12-12 Thread Dale Dummitt
Why does Entourage 2004 paste a 'space' character in front of the actual
text being pasted? Is there someway to prevent this from happening? It has
always done it AFAIK. For example, if I'm giving a path to a file and I
don't want to type the entire thing, but instead want to copy and paste it,
this is the outcome.

Entourage 2004 does not do that for me. It may depend on the source of your

However, there is an old bug in Entourage pasting.

Entourage puts a space if you paste after a manually typed quote mark

Email Account Password Problem

2008-12-12 Thread Geoff WALLACE
Hello All,

Since the 12.1.5 Office 2008 Update, I have to re-enter the Passwords for my
Email Accounts each day?

Have deleted and let the OS recreate a new Login Keychain, but this has not
fixed the problem.

Amy one else having this problem or found a cure.

Checking Mail on 11 Accounts makes it a bit of a chore in the morning to try
and remember 11 passwords.

After the Passwords are entered, Mail can be received ok for that day.

The next day after a restart, you have to enter the 11 passwords again.

Re: Email Account Password Problem

2008-12-12 Thread James W Smith
Geoff,

I had the same problem after performing the 12.1.5 update. I tried
everything to get it working but Entourage would not communicate the
password to Keychain. I deleted prefs, I reset the Keychain, I created a new
identity and I created a new user in OS X. Nothing made a difference.

I finally gave up and deleted the Office 2008 folder copied over an older
version (12.1.1) of Office 2008 I had on a backup hard drive. Then I
followed Diane's instructions to startup with the Shift key down to disable
all applications (including the hidden ones). Then I ran the 12.1.5 updater.
Then I restarted the computer.

Upon opening Entourage, it asked for the password for each email account. I
entered the info and checked the box to save the info in Keychain. I then
quit and re-opened Entourage. Voila! I doesn't ask for the password anymore.
I used Keychain Access to check the entries and the passwords are now in the
Keychain. (After I had reset the Keychain it remained empty no matter how
many times I entered the passwords in Entourage.) All is working well again.

This is the fix that worked for me. Good luck.

Jim

Re: Email Account Password Problem

2008-12-12 Thread Geoff WALLACE
Hello All,

Doing as James suggested fixed the problem.

Ent was not talking to the Keychain Access, added in the Passwords manually
to Keychain Access, but Ent 2008 did not recognise them.

Ran Keychain First Aid but it made no difference.

The fix is to start in Safe Mode, reinstall the Office 2008 Application and
then apply the updates required to bring it up to date.

Diane, perhaps we need this problem added to the Ent Web pages you look
after?

Thanks for all the help, glad to know I was not the only one with the
problem.

In Preferences (General), try unchecking Use smart cut and paste. I
