Exchange isn't my area of expertise, but Bill Smith posted these tips for
Exchange users:

They must give you permission first. However, if Outlook allows you to
view their accounts then so should Entourage.

Be sure you are attempting to connect using File -- Open Other User's
Folder...

In Entourage you will only be able to access the other user's

-- Inbox (not other folders)
-- Calendar (primary calendar only)
-- Contacts (primary contacts list only)

If you need more access then you can ask them to make you a delegate to
their account. You would connect as a delegate using Tools --
Accounts... and double-clicking your Exchange account. Under the
Delegates tab you would select the other user's account for whom you are
a delegate.

Posted by Pawan:

Do a control click on your exchange account in Entourage.
Here you will get a contextual menu
Select new folder
Name your folder and select type as calendar
This will create a calendar folder for you

To share this calendar with another user on the exchange server. do
Control-Click it to bring up a menu by the cursor. Choose Sharing. The
settings are identical to Outlook; search for the user to you're like to
share with, then give them rights to what you want to share. The other user
can access this with open other user folder option.

Hope this helps!

The 11.2.0 update for Entourage 2004 is also known as SP2. Anything later
includes all the new functionality of SP2.

IIRC, you could always do GAL *lookups* in Entourage 2004 by entering a name
and letting it search and retrieve names for you. But SP2 provided the
 ability to *browse* the GAL.

To browse the GAL, you begin by composing a new message. As you add names in
the To, Cc and Bcc fields you can click on the Address Book icon at the top
of the small window. In the panel on the right you should see a drop down
menu at the top where you can select your company address book.

This functionality requires an Exchange account and that you have a valid
LDAP server specified in your Exchange account.

 Hope this helps!

Just a combo updater for a lot of minor updates. I'm not even sure there was
an SP2. If there was an SP2 it would have been included in the 11.5.0 combo.

Right now Entourage 2008 has received an SP1. There were over 50
improvements for Entourage in this release. Generally Service Packs come out
early on after the product is released.

Will going up to 11.5.1 make any difference?

Entourage did not receive any improvements or it would be 11.5.1.

Ent. 04

2008-10-10 Thread List Fiend
Sorry for revisiting an old issue;

Looking at a post on the CreativeTechs website from Sept. 2005, they
indicate that with Office 04 Service Pack 2 comes the ability to access a
company¹s global address list.

I didn¹t realize that was possible.

Can anyone tell me how?

You can browse the Exchange GAL from the Address Book in Entourage 2004 SP2
or later. In the left pane of the Address Book window, you'll have to choose
the one of the address lists associated with your Exchange account -- but if
your organization has sublists for the GAL, they should appear there.

This should work outside your organization's network if you can connect
Entourage to a public-facing front end/OWA server, which should be done with
SSL for security.

The lookups done when composing mail messages and calendar invitations, as I
recall, are all done with LDAP to the Global Catalog. These typically fail
when you go outside your organization's local network, since the ports used
for this communication are often blocked from remote access.
